This might sound really pathetic, but your video actually brought me to tears... Just the passion you have for photography and the footage you took just looks so nostalgic. Takes me right back to childhood vacations in Croatia and Italia. Thank you for the informative and touching video (even if that was not your intention!)

Love this little beast so much. My main camera. Even shot my first feature film with it. I'm still having fun experimenting with different lenses and color grade styles. I keep it attached to my gimbal and when I need still shots I attach the whole gimbal to my tripod. Just easy to take in and out without messing with the camera. Powering it with a monitor and one battery, I get about 2 hours on one battery and three back up. Thankfully my HDMI input has not failed me like many others. Have used in harsh summer Texas heat and during a snow storm. It's been my favorite camera so far.

@@GimbleProductions true, in videos they say 400-500 but on eBay it’s really more like $500 for dead pixels and scratches, $700-$2,000 with various extra gear. I think I got a decent deal on one with barely any use, plus 4 batteries, a tilta cage, and a magnetic viewfinder for $750 👌 I’ll never sell either.

Just built up a little hand held setup I use npf battery plate with 12 and 7.4 volt out and a port keys viewfinder so much better than the rear screen the focus peaking on the camera rather than the viewfinder works best. Also ir cut filter and vnd filters on the lens makes life pretty easy with zebras set at 100% you just dial in the exposure and shoot. The dng files are really nice to edit. The only strangeness is the camera white balance is set at 5600 but resolve says 5423k instead.

Hi Dominic, and thank you for this video. I was wondering if you encounter issues with patterns like barriers ? Your shot at 9:12 is clean. In the same situation, I get a terrible result, even with a metabones speedbooster. Thank you. Laurent
@GimbleProductions2 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurent, you might be facing Moire issues with your camera - this is a common issue faced by early Blackmagic cameras. I believe you can buy a filter that goes inside the camera that fixes this issue! I don’t have the filter myself, I might have just gotten lucky! I was using a sigma 18-35 which is a very sharp lens, which may have reduced some of this visual effects

I got the BMPCC through today and picture does look amazing. Thanks for all of your advice. The mini hdmi cable does fit into the camera and work with an external monitor, however it doest push all the way in would you say that’s normal? Thanks Glenn
@GimbleProductions2 жыл бұрын
I'll say this, definitely do not try plugging it in further if there is resistance. Do you have a cage for your camera? If so, I would strongly recommend a cable lock for the hdmi to ensure it doesn't break or disconnect! Let me know if you need a cage and I can provide some suggestions

This is a great video thanks so much. I won one of these cameras on eBay yesterday so I can wait for it to arrive. I am trying to find one of the battery plates you used but can’t seem to find one. Do you have any links to one? Thanks Glenn
@GimbleProductions2 жыл бұрын
Hey! www.ebay.com/itm/175266981036 This is the plate I am using, though batteries are seemingly becoming harder to come across on mainstream shopping sites. Might be worth checking out Aliexpress for BP-U30 / U60 / U90 batteries. The advantage of these batteries over NP-F is they output 14v natively so for modern pocket cameras they'll be great too. U30 is the smallest battery and is the the one seen in this video, 60 is double size in height and double capacity, and 90 is triple in height. U30 is best for small configurations

When did a certain segment of the UK population decide to start pronouncing the letter 'H' as "haydge" as opposed to "aydge"? I'm not British but I have been regularly exposed to all kinds of British speech from the Sex Pistols to the Royals, all kinds of TV drama and comedy from all walks of life, and I never heard "haydge" in the 70s, 80s, or 90s.
