Jackson and quality don't exactly go hand in hand these days if we are really being honest. Imports have tons of QC problems, and a majority of customers are buying imports because of the prices. I have limited experience with US models but I hope they're great. I'd love to get my hands on this model to try, but it's too pricey for me. I'm in the market for a guitar that's $1000-$1500 and here's what I'm looking for in order of importance: 1. non-glossy neck (classic Jackson headstock*) 2. stainless steel frets 3. locking tuners 4. hipshot or floyd are acceptable 5. HH combo with Fishman or SD pickups 6. a fucking case 7. ebony fretboard 8. clean body paint with no topwoods (could be S, V, or X shaped) With this list, which I'd bet is common, Jackson just fall behind Ibanez, LTD, and Schecter at this point; Charvel and Jackson are sort of twins. I know my price criteria is throwing me right into Indonesian made guitars, and I'm not trying to trash Jackson but many of us who want Jacksons are looking elsewhere. If things don't change, fucking Kramer will be stealing customers in a few years. I'm only saying this because I love Jackson.
@Masterfighterx2 жыл бұрын
I agree, Jackson (among others still) should up their game and join in on the current times without coming up with stupid prices. I would loooove it if they took a Vintage White RR (either their current Indonesian model, or a future one looking like the 3rd prototype, but also Indonesian, or maybe, depending on price, Korean) added SS frets to it and MoP inlays, that would be killer.

So I tested out one of the new SL3 guitars last night. The fret work and setup out of the box was incredible, fast as f@ck neck is an understatement. It felt quality. I dont care for the HSS setup, would prefer HH with pickup rings not exposed cavities, looks very cheap. The reverse inlays are really cool and actual pearl. Wish the headstock logo was also pearl not silk screened. 1500 series trem felt better than expected. Still think Fender/Jackson is shortchanging consumers with a fairly bare bones soloist for a pretty hefty price tag. If they knocked $500+ USD off the msrp it would seem more reasonable.

@maxammo62822 жыл бұрын
@@alexcorona that's exactly why high-end guitars don't put stainless steel on their frets is because they're harder to work with they're tougher on the tools it takes longer to do the fret job because the material is harder than the normal nickel brass fretwire.
