New beta versions of Ornatrix UE allow creation of hair directly inside Unreal Engine Editor. You can also toggle between Ornatrix and native unreal hair. In this tutorial we check out this functionality and touch a little on editing the hair using operators and tools.

Sweet Jesus! Are there also tests on UE5, or development focus on 4.? Starting to migrate into 5 would be great to test !

Hi I'm stuck on the Add Groom button- it seems to do nothing, no hair is visible on my mesh. Any ideas? Demo version, Unreal 5.1

Hi, There was a problem with Ornatrix viewport hair display in UE 5.1, which is already fixed in the latest nightly build. Please update the plugin and try again.

@@Ephere У нас сейчас большой проект с шерстью. И мучаемся експортом(( X gen и groom импортятся, но на них не отображается текстура модели((( Что делать непонятно((

Is it possible to apply directly to a skeletal mesh?

Hi, Only static meshes are supported at the moment. Support for skeletal meshes will be added in the near future.

UE Groom hair is TERRIBLE for framerate, maybe showing optimization tps for Groom hair will be a better idea, honestly Groom hair is unusable... specially having just as little as 3 characters in the scene... Framerate can go as low as 10 FPS
