I still like that Dopo is kind of ashamed about the whole tiger killer thing and kinda keeps it ambigiouse if he actually did that, because he does not want his students to go out and try to kill the endangered tigers

Yea I enjoyed that too. A younger Doppo was traveling the world and challenging everyone and while he was a badass the fact he went for a tiger implies he was very arrogant. Lol I’m mean sure he had reason to be since he succeeded but it doesn’t make it right

Kinda making people go "Haha look at this stupid picture. That story must be something they came up with for advertisement/promotion"

The thing I like about this arc it really does show better respect to the other fighters, and it feels less "can Baki stop this person," and then they feel like a joke. Much like how the did Ali jr.

It is really funny to me that the Creator gives Akido all this praise and tried to make it look cool. When it is a fake martial art. Like its real and exists, but its not useful at all.

Yeah Itagaki is Japanese. Japan's national sport is Sumo. He has to give them their flowers after all the respect he tries to put on other forms of fighting. Its a culture thing.

So glorified, yet I believe that they were all generally. Kinda the same when Retsu became a boxer, that arc was great because it was about him gaining respect for a whole new theatre of competition. Is it strictly accurate? Not really, but things usually get amped up to 11 when it comes to Baki, folks are either here for it or they aren't.

They are japanese, of course they are going to get sucked off and scaled to the main cast while the strongest fighter of [insert country that is not Japan or China] gets sh*t on by side characters.

The authors over the top hype for japan has been a staple in the baki verse. The only thing out of character for the sumo is the fact that it's kinda one sided. But then again other baki fights only last .5 sec if there's a gap in strength

This is the under ground arena, anything minus using weapons is allowed. The only goal is to win. Baki has even kicked guys in the groin before. He did what came there to do, was it cheap? You could say so. But he was fighting a man much bigger than himself too.

Going from Musashi to Sumos is kinda fucked up. I don't know what the writter was thinking. So many martial arts and martial art legends still to be explored and mofo picks sumo and dick rides it like he has a gun to his face.
