One feature I have not seen on any goggles is an ajustable focal range for old guys like me who need reading glasses to see things up close. I know this is a "non issue" according to fatshark because they say that the effective image appears to your brain like it is far away but in reality the display is still less than an inch from my eyes. For me I can see the image just fine but I have troubles reading the OSD, it looks fuzzy and I can not tell if my battery is 3.8 or 3.6v for example. Also I would have troubles seeing details such as power lines, ghost branches, gate support strings etc until it was too late to react. I origally had the fatshark dominator v2 and machined myself a custom set of diopters from a pair of +1.5 reading glasses to slip in front of my optics which was a huge improvement. Recently I upgraded to the HDO's which was another huge improvement for seeing the ghost branches etc. but still had to add my diopters to read the osd. The diopters really help but they also have some issues, though the image in the center of view is very clear the edges are still fuzzy so I have to arrange my osd to avoid the fuzzy edges, which is where I really prefer my information to be displayed. Additionally the diopter do tend to fog up and the fan does not really help on cold days. At work I have a set of "zoom glasses" made by zeiss which have an ajustable focal range by turning a knob it moves the front lens closer and further from the main lens and allows me to set a focal range appropriate to my work I am trying to focus on. This would be a nice feature to add to allow users to fine tune to individual eye focus. It sucks to get old but eventually everyones eyes will get old so this could be a huge selling point for your older customers who have money and just want that ultimate emmersive experience.

We all hope, they suceed and will bring and excellent goggle to the market. A QUALITY product. After watching different videos, I noticed, that NOBODY FLEW FPV with those goggles... I hope they will have a proper software, which will show analog fotage on an HD screen without latency! (not like the eachine ev900, which have an HD screen but LATENCY) All in all, it seems like a decent goggle, which they use the opportunity, to not just build it for the FPV market, but although to make it more broad and useable!!! Who knows, maybe one day, you could use your fpv goggles as a pair of VR goggles, too :) You certainly can watch videos with it :) KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND BRING US THE BEST FPV GOGGLES OF THE WORLD!!!

Is the pointy front needed to fit the internals? Or a design choice? If it’s a design choice, can you make the front flat, so it would fit better in the bag? Dot get me wrong, I like it... but the smaller I can pack my goggles, transmitter and quad..... the more I use it, in manny cases it’s a size of my fpv package that decides if I can bring it in holiday, and casual impulsive use... “I will bring it, because it dos not take up a lot of space.......

Big improvement would be to relocate module bay to the front, and to make carry box a little bigger to accomodate goggles at least with patch antenna still on. I have that option with FS now, and module on the side would require angled sma adapters and unscrewing everything every time i want to use them.

Having the faceplate's curve be adjustable would be a useful and unique selling point. I used the soft foam with my HD2's for a couple of years, when it wore out (and so did the fan's bearings) I bought a HDO faceplate with its vinyl padding, which has better feel to it but there's a touch of light leak because the faceplate's curve doesn't match my face.

Going through chemo, radiation and physical therapy has left me with too much time on my hands so decided to take up a new hobby.. My mouth dropped when I saw my first fpv video feed so.. I just bought my first fpv racer (all promo sale parts on banggood) I think for the $250 shes going to be pretty sweet.. I almost spend the $300 on the ev200ds but was still unsure if I should go the extra stretch for the HDOs but I just cant afford them right now.. But now Orqas for $700.. You guys are killing me.. Let me know if you guys need unbiased testers and wanted to send a pair my way.. Think its my only shot in getting a set of these bad boys..

Jerimy Christensen sorry to hear that Jerimy. My first piece of advice is to not get into the super cheap stuff because you won’t be able to find parts or support. I don‘t see the upgrades of this over fatsharks other than a power button ... same modules, same displays of the HDO ... does it even have a fan for defogging? I can already see the proximity sensor not working thus rendering your goggles useless not wanting to turn on. I‘d have understood if they‘d have matched the fatshark pricing however with the current price they have in mind fatsharks will reign supreme as the tried and tested goggle for actually less money just without a power button.

Whoever develops a goggle to meet the following specs/features will take the FPV market by storm: - compact goggle (not a large screen) - very high resolution - OLED or QLED for best contrast ratio - largest FOV possible 50*+. (Or whatever is the maximum possible to not have blurry edges to the user’s retina). Traditionally it’s been 38-40* - ipd adjustable - Ultra low latency - 4:3 aspect ratio - no light leak - swappable module diversity receiver bay - internal fan for anti-fogging - automatic on, high quality/low compression SD card DVR - comfortable - face conforming - HDMI input jack - rca video input jack - 3.5mm audio output jack - 2 year+ warranty - no bs repair facility and product support - and lastly the main key spec: Less than $400USD. Without this the goggle’s market share will be a fraction of what it could be otherwise. This looks like a good option and design guys, as long as the FOV is wide enough and the price gets dropped significantly you’ll have a winner.

A lost quad function similar to the Laforge would be a great feature to add with a diversity receiver for long rangers that might crash. I do a lot of mid range and having that would be super useful. Also adding a lap timer based off of Rssi would be great for racing.

This comment is about my personal situation. I won't be spending half that much on goggles in 2019. My 200d"s are doing surprisingly well after 5 months use! I'm not a professional and the range and clarity is more than adequate. Unless they break, I'm sticking with them. If they break I'm getting Aomways V1 or V2 or a second pair of 200D's. Why didn't they innovate instead of sort of keeping up with the Jones? OTOH, Plenty of pilots are out there, many looking to spend some serious dough in the community, but the number of potential customers makes me wonder if there's even enough market out there for them to become a player. I think this release will be at least somewhat successful unless they are smart. I just dont understand why anyone would want to enter this particular market at this time. If my business was flush with VC money I could think of better products and riper sectors to try and disrupt. The competition is plentiful and right know there are countless companies in china doing the exact same thing (trying to take the mantle from Fatshark) these guys are doing, but with more money than God and cheaper labor, no IP laws etc etc etc. Good luck fellas, I do hope you succeed!

Might i suggest the option of all white as this is the most reflective to the sun for people in sunny area's like the desert. This will help keep the temperature of the components lower and possible temperature of the eyes a bit more comfortable.

I'm considering entering the FPV hobby. I fly model airplanes but look a lot at drones. What holds me back is a "cheap" good pair of goggles. You can buy something for 100usd, but then, if you like the hobby, you have to ditch those and buy another pair (knowing me, i'd buy a 200usd pair, which needs upgrading in due time to some 500usd pairs later on :-) Build me some upgradable pair of goggle for a reasonable starting price and you have my attention. Make the body so one can open it reasonbly easy (no darn clips!) and offer shitty lcd/oled modules, reasonable ones and top spec ones (heck, in the future you might offer 4K ones which still fit this body if that would make sense!). Also offer upgradable receivers (done, you ticked that box!), battery (because you do not know what tomorrow brings), a main board etc. Then throw in interchangeble optics (because, you know, I'm getting old too) and you have me locked in your ecosystem for a looong time! And if I ever break something or the battery goes bad, I can just buy a replacement part. Good for the environment too! Another thing I would REALY like to see someone do is 3D glasses. You already offer 2 receivers. Offer the ablity to control them independently (channel selection) and feed the image to 2 screens and BANG! 3D goggles! One only needs 2 camera's and vtx-es on the drones. With current light equipment, that is not in the realm of impossibilities. Then, as a last thought, offer interchangeable faceplates. Your face is not my face, so if you engineer the body so you can fit a number of differently sized faceplates, no-one will ever complain about light leakage or pinched noses (for selecting the right size, you could just offer a pdf for download which prints the face-shape onto a pice of paper which you can hold in front of you head to test-fit)

I have a qav 250 running betaflight on the Joshua bardwell flight controller and 4 esc’s that don’t match lol I need to buy some esc’s that are new like the 32 bit system ones now a days. I’m stuck in the past with the setup I have right now but slowly trying to get to a good spot. I have a camera the swift mini and the tbs unify pro hv race but I can’t use them because I don’t have fpv goggles or screen yet. Maybe some day I will be privileged enough to get that. :) I’m also using the emax mt 2204 2300kv motors with blue series 12a esc’s on Blheli fw but recently switched them back to simonk fw because one blew and I had another esc but it’s on old simonk and I don’t have the flashing tools yet to switch it to Blheli. So I’m back to running regular pwm for now. Lol I’m using at9 with r9ds receiver which is really nice on signal and distance connection. But yea I never owned fpv goggles or any thing of that sort yet in my life but really want a pair so badly. I really want to experience this hobby fully immersed. I herd somewhere that using fpv helps with addiction in some people that have abnormal behaviors with addictions. I have a small acute addhd since I was a child I couldn’t stay focused on school work easily like everyone else but as time gone on I got better and it’s not bothering me as much. I was told that if I were to fly using fpv I would get better with my hand eye coordinations and learn to focus and set my mind free much easier. So I wait and wait till I can come up with money to purchase a set of goggles. Now that I discovered the fpvone orqas I’m totally sold on getting these. But if I am ever offered a pair of other head sets I’d greatly appreciate it and use them with love and care. Lol

crazy idea but could the tx (Taranis) also be the power for the goggles ? to fly FPV you have a pair of goggles and you have the TX. connect with TBS TANGO TX. you would have the small FPV screern. Tango has large battery could power goggles !! Install DVR in TANGO (not googles). if you crash drone you could simply use screen in TANGO to find ! maybe use antenna in Goggles to locate ??

Nice innovations. But we need it also in white. Black color makes the goggles hot in hot summer days... hot goggles is what we don't want... and the software needs the option to disable the sensor for the auto standby mode. if this function fails... you will have a black screen during your flight... which will end up in a crash... good luck for this exciting project :o)

It is very exciting to see another high-end goggle come into direct competetion with Fat Shark. Just watching the interviews done on this company, it would seem they have state-of-the-art components in these goggles, and I think the breaking point will be the price. Yes, it’s a high-end product, yes, that comes with a high-end price, but if the census is FS are way over priced, then these, at the same price, let’s say $500, would have to be a significantly better goggle to make a dent in that market. And you can bet money, FS, being a pretty big company, has the dollars and resources to respond to that market challenge, and still profit. Going to get interesting!

Intergraded hard drive to record with the option to add a Micro SD card for expandability. That way you’re never without a card to record flights. Dedicated frequency locating mode which could help in finding downed quads. Blackout screen that’s switch operated to block out the sun when not being worn to save the screens from damage from direct sunlight.

A DVR that records in full D1 interlaced resolution would be awesome because sadly every single DVR on the market deinterlaces the video by throwing away one field of the frame, halving the original framerate and effective resolution, which is why virtually all FPV camera reviews on KZbin aren't as accurate as they could be. I have the equipment to record high bitrate full D1 interlaced video, but it means lugging an old laptop around to do the job.

Not just focus on "the" faceplate, make them entirely interchangeable. Aomway Commanders are for very flat faces. Start with a basic angle and have entirely interchangeable angled plates to put on to completely change the facial geometry before having the velcro-on foam/pad. I'd suggest going with a more leather-ish style for the one included or offer 2 types.

Battery in the back and no blurry edges. Power button fan and main power button is nice. Orange would be cool. Make the face seal nice. Not cheap foam. Fat shark on the HDO should have a power button and fan button. Not sure if I like auto sensor to turn off power. Can you imagine the sensor malfunction and shut goggles off.
