There's a really good podcast on escape collective which covers the fall of distributers and the reason why they failed. Basically nobody stopped to consider the fact that once lock downs were over, people would return to gyms and their other chosen sports. There was a massive swell in demand that they largely created themselves by making ridiculous orders that, at some point, would never get fulfilled. The mind boggles how some of these distributers made any money even before COVID. They had terrible, outdated business models and deserve to go to the wall.

That's a bombshell. I saw an Orro thro' Merlin and was thinking about a do-it-all winter bike and, as you say, they looked like good value for money. I feel sorry for the workforce now. Good post.

It's tragic for the employees and ultimately the buying public. I feel that the corporate investment owners all the Bike industry don't care, just cut down the portfolio as told by the bean counters👎

@@THECONTROVERSIALCYCLIST Exactly that. When you stop and think about it, the changes in the bike industry 'model' over the 10-15-20 years are staggering. Many of them are sold to us on the grounds of convenience, economy of scale, progress, and all the rest, but it increasingly feels like we're been shepherded into some kind of endgame cul-de-sac. I know this is a leitmotiv on your channel and I appreciate your insider's POV. Keep 'em coming.

The only sad part about this situation is the regular 9-17h worker who loses his job. Other than that, it's a great thing because it's time to adjust these crazy prices. There are a lot of greedy bastards in the industry. By the way, Cam Nicolls finally made a great video showcasing a rim brake bike that out performed all his Disk brake ones 🤣. If you have time, make a reaction video.
