In my opinion, the three listed are hardly applicable to the deceased, even with a loose interpretation. "Once saved, always saved" is similar in spirit to "once married, always married". If you don't act faithfully in your marriage and remain faithful to your spouse, your marriage can definitely come to an end. You can lose your marriage, in other words.
@evans3922 Жыл бұрын
Once saved always saved refers to the human nature. Indeed the human nature was once and for ever redeemed by Lord Jesus Christ. Human nature is now deified on the right of God Father in the person of Logos Jesus Christ. But all of us as persons as individual Hypostasises need to be saved by personally being connected and United to Christ and this is actualized in His Church through the Holy Mysteries Holy Communion Confession and our personal ascetic efforts.And this is possible exactly because Our Saviour Jesus Christ saved our human nature in Himself otherwise there would be no way for us to be saved.

One true church will never call their leaders a "Father" because Jesus told us not to call them father since there is one and only Father, The God of Israel. It is pretty blatant naming like worship of Mary which Jesus Christ Himself prohibited(worshipping His biological family members). Also one true church will never blame other bretheren who are currently dying for Christ, being persecuted for Christ, being spat at, tortured, murdered for Christ. The one true church would never do that, Jesus Christ Himself would never do that, Peter would never do that, Christians, would never do that, because that's what demons do. There are people in North Korea right now, at this moment, being brutally murdered and beaten up just becasue of the name of Christ, and there are protestants in my country still trying to get into North Korea risking all that just to spread gospel of Jesus Christ. If God put you and them in front of Him, do you think your naming of yourself "Orthodoxy" would add anything to you? You are nothing when you stand next to those saints, and if you think just being proud of being a part of a denomination would cover all that arrogance, your conscience as christian is dead. What about underground churches in China? First of all in a denominational sense they are protestants, but they don't have their fancy buildings(not that I'm saying owning one is wrong), they just gather around and worship God biblically. They don't think about being protestants or anything, they just serve Christ and their neighbors. What do you think of them? Oh, real christians MUST BE orthodoxy so you're gonna dress them a black robe and until then they are not gonna be saved by God? How about Mr. Richard Wurmbrand? Locked up for years by communists government because of his underground church ministry, tortured, and died helping persecuted christians? You would say he is not a christian? I had been charitable to the TikTok Evangelical dude till the part where he insulted the Theotokos. Coincidentally I saw another video on my feed of a Prot street preacher accusing an Orthodox man of worshipping Mary because we call her the mother of God. Many Protestants aren't even aware that they're Nestorian when they attack these titles for Mary. Mary is the mother of God because she gave birth to the Divine Logos, the second person of the Trinity. That means that God was born of a human virgin. And if Prots deny this, then they would have to deny as well that God died on the cross. I think that they have this presupp that calling Mary the mother of God means that she is a god, or that she created the divine nature of Jesus in the Incarnation, both of which we Orthodox obviously reject. Acknowledging that Mary is the mother of God is necessary for a Christian, because that's tied to acknowledging that Jesus is both fully God and fully man. Otherwise you end up being either Arian, Nestorian, Monophysite or polytheist

@@harrygarris6921 I might not be using the correct phrase in saying she is considered the "4th member of the Trinity". I'm in the "protestant" community as you would call it and it's funny because when I bring up points of Orthodox ecclesiology individually, they agree with me on everything individually but when you advocate for ALL of it together they object. At my churches AGM I managed to convince them using the Bible that we needed to celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday and they agreed (even though it contradicts the idea that having the Lord's Supper every week is a superstition), then I argued for the acknowledgement of the real presence (which my denomination should anyway by the very words of their own catechism) and they agreed, I brought up then that the first article of our catechism is to have scripture as our chief authority and that given there's agreement on these 3 things we should acknowledge the real presence and practice the Lords Supper every Sunday, they said no because it's "catholic". There's other baffling contradictions too like someone telling me that Constantine turned Christianity from a relationship with God into a religion, I asked him what was so bad about the edict of Milan he said "what's that?" so I just dropped it, I could see where that one was going. I'm kind of going insance in this community.

Yea bro, you demonstrate 2 key problems in Protestantism. 1) NOONE has to listen to your interpretation of scripture. Your understanding is NO authority over anyone else because "men are fallible". It can even be correct interpretation, but again noone is *bound* by your reading. 2) You should start to realise from this experience that Protestantism is simply a reaction to catholicism rather than a "reformation" of Catholic doctrine as it started to be. Protestantism is concerned with simply *Not being/looking catholic.* They don't care about the Truth of Christ or correct worship. If correct worship means to them that they "look" catholic, they'd rather disrespect and disobey Him than "look" catholic. This is actually why Protestants don't like the Orthodox Church. Orthodox looks to "catholic" to them, so they group them together, when they're completely different in Theology, Liturgy, Worship, Monasticism, Structure among many other things. The solution here is to become Orthodox, you won't have to deal with this nonsense. Find a local Orthodox parish (look for one in english if you can) and after the Divine Liturgy, simply walk up to the priest and ask him questions about things you don't understand. Orthodox understand that the Church is the piller and ground of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15). Hope this helps :) 🙏🏾

@@olubunmiolumuyiwa On that topic of protestants rejecting practices because they "look catholic", during the 16th and 17th centuries, the puritans and pilgrims established colonies in North America to practice their religion, as I'm sure you know. The puritans were reformists, meaning they wanted to "reform" the Anglican church (i.e. they wanted to get rid of all the "catholic elements" still present in Anglicanism), while the pilgrims were separatists, believing that the Anglican church had completely defected because they still had "catholic elements", and they wanted to build a new church with no "catholic elements". Countless sects of protestantism (baptists, methodists, quakers, etc) were literally started because protestant reformers and separatists actively tried to create new churches devoid of anything that resembled Roman Catholicism, which in turn actually led to hatred and bigotry against Roman Catholics in these early colonies. Protestants rejecting teachings because they "look catholic" is far from a new thing, it is literally the reason why probably thousands of protestant denominations and heresies even exist, and you can also say is part of the reason why America even exists.

Explain St Paul’s warning on the unworthy reception of the Eucharist (communion) in 1 Corinthians, or what Jesus says in John 6:56-67? The greatest lie the Protestants tell themselves is that no one else reads scripture. Oh we do and the difference is we don’t lean on our own understandings as you have presupposed by your crass statements. Does it not take “works” to spew the demonically inspired heresy you are trying to”preach”? What of the “works” to print the Bible? Translate it? Read it? The effort to overcome sin? Jesus established a Church (Matthew 16) and no it didn’t need reformation, unless you think Satan had a 1500 years (+) victory depending on your sectarian leanings on what man made/centred nonsense you believe. Christ established a Church. Not a Bible. In fact reading the Bible is never exclusively spoken of as a means to salvation. So how do you suppose the poor vast majority of illiterates got by with no printing press? You realize that for the first 100 plus years many wouldn’t have heard all the Pauline epistles? Or how about this? The first book of the NT which was written was 1 Corinthians and that was not addressed to a vast public via a printing press. St Paul wrote to a local Church unified to other local churches in true faith and doctrine. Something your cult of one fundamentally lacks. Your faith is in fact man centred. Your means of salvation is mere mental ascent (what you believe and emotionally feel about God) and removes any means by which God can interact with you in materiality. The incarnation has a distinct purpose. It wasn’t to teach but to heal for Christ never wrote a single word. Timothy also says the Church is the pillar and ground of truth. Not the Bible alone. In fact the term Bible is never found in the Bible. Protestant “churches” with their rock concert “worship” bands (of the self) are also pretty lacking in scripture. As is Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura and all the solas. None of them are by themselves. Rather faith, grace and works are synergistic and with true faith works will manifest and with effort faith grows. Salvation is a work. In fact St Paul says to work it out with fear and trembling which given your arrogant reply, is safe to assume you lack. Fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom. The rejection and reduction of what He came to establish is the opposite of wisdom. Do with my reply what you will. But you didn’t say anything in good faith.

Saint Ignatius wrote SEVEN LETTERS stressing the importance of THE CHURCH AND THE BISHOPS as well as the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist in the face of the Docestists. But the Protestants cope by going straight to the secular authorities for anything after Acts, so ironic
@wjckc795 ай бұрын
Protestants are so hung up on Sola Scriptura, they refuse to investigate early Christian writings. As a former Protestant, now Orthodox, I only ever looked at Christian history starting now and working my way back. I had no idea how limiting this was. It was only when addressing a certain issue that I started with the New Testament and slowly worked forward. When I read the letters of Ignatius I was dumbfounded. I kept going from there. My earliest impression was the feeling that I had been lied to about Christianity in its Protestant form. The biggest disaster in Christian history was the adoption of scholastic theology in the West in the 12th century. All the bad things the Reformers fought against were born from this. The Reformers did not understand and basically said to the Catholic church "hold my beer: behold Reformed Theology!".

@tomtemple69 Your issue is your skewed and wrong definition of "belief/believe." Abraham DEMONSTRATED HIS BELIEF THROUGH HIS WORKS. "Belief" is not some mere mental consent. "Even the demons believe." Works are attached to "belief/believe." Even baptism is a work demonstrating belief and obedience.... "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?" ~ James 2:17-21

I was recently a Southern Baptist, and now Orthodox. In the Southern Baptist church I just didn’t feel like I was getting the actual purpose of the church, and I wanted to grow closer in a relationship WITH GOD. I wanted more understanding of context from the Biblical scriptures. That understanding and context is EXTREMELY lacking in the Southern Baptist church right now. I can already see this by just reading the Bible alone (on my third reading). I’m not here to say I have more knowledge than a Protestant pastor, but some of them have scared me with their interpretation of scripture. I’ve been reading and searching resources for the last FOUR YEARS!!! I finally came to the conclusion that the Orthodox Church gets as close to biblical scripture that you could possibly get.

Hello Kyle. It is difficult to live out the Orthodox Christain life in my household. As a teen, my parents don't let me look into religion that much. They claim I'm "too young to start on that journey." Conversation with them is pointless as they just shut me down immediately and they don't seem to want to talk about it. I've been trying to go to my local Greek Orthodox church every Sunday to get in contact with a priest, but now it seems that my parents make us go somewhere conveniently during the Divine Liturgy, so I cannot attend. I want to tell them about church, but at the same time I know I can't because they'll probably just ensure that I never go there while I'm living with them. Do you have any advice on what to do? He claims Orthodox & Roman Catholic value more on tradition than The Scriptures. He doesn't understand the history that The Scriptures are the byproduct of tradition. Tradition came first before the written scriptures. That's why The Gospel in its original term is *Euangelion* that's literally meaning "a good announcement." It came from *the announcement* by The Apostles. It was a verbal tradition. How does he think The Scriptures were compiled/canonised into 1 Bible? It was checked using the established tradition of The Church as its benchmark. If there was a book that didn't fit The Churches tradition, it couldn't be included. That's why The Bible doesn't include books such as The Infancy Gospel of Thomas, The Gospel of Judas, The Gospel of Mary, etc. Those books didn't fit The Tradition & the teachings of The Apostles. In conclusion, how did The Church Fathers know which books to include because it's true? Because of tradition! That's why we should read The Bible through the lense of The Church's Tradition. Lord, have mercy. 🤦♂️

I found the most interesting part of this was the part when you said you couldn't really know what would happen to the unbelievers when they're dead and that we should pray for the dead. For the longest time, I thought ALL Christians believe that the unbelievers would DEFINITELY go to hell, no and or but or whatever. Just now discover that this sect of thinking more or less comes from Protestants. Would you mind making an entire video dedicating on that matter and go more in depth into what the Orthodox church teaches about that? Thank you for your work ❤.

I am Protestant, and I think Protestants are showing the wrong message about Protestantism. Martin Luther started the Protestant denomination in order to correct the Roman Catholic Church who were not teaching about Jesus properly, because as in the video, you showed that the Roman Catholics fled away from Orthodoxy leading to Catholicism. The reason why we follow the scripture only is because it was made by God, it is perfect and needs no correction, or help. I also think im kinda iffy because I researched on some of the *modern* Protestant beliefs and my dad and I didnt agree with them, such as confessing alone saves which I think is wrong because you need to live on the path of Jesus. Also some things like once saved always saved, you can lose your salvation if you dont believe Jesus died for our sins. I think Protestant has changed a lot from Martin Luthers attempt, the reason why my church is different from other protestant churches. Ours is more closer to Martin Luther.

I am a protestant and I love most of your videos but the hate between sects of christianity is so silly. Maybe don't see us as the church we are from and as individuals instead. The upmost important thing about being a christian is your personal relationship with christ. I don't think tradition is wrong I just don't see it as important to salvation. I think if you walk into a good protestant church you would find the teachings to be the same as your own. Of course all churches will very because people are evil at heart and corruption is inevitable. I've actually been really interested in orthodox christianity but the main reason I won't commit to it is that many orthodox christians treat the orthodox church as the one true church. A church is simply the gathering of believers to discuss the wonders of God. Have faith in God, not your church. edit: I am in no way defending the guy he is reacting to

People who like the rosary are too in love with Western Roman practices. We have prayer ropes and prayers of our own.

20:01 You debugged Protestants? Yeah, maybe they have a bug in their software and need to be debugged. 😄 Just messing with you. Great content as always! ❤ I'd love to see you make a video on Biblical defense of Icons and Saints (if you haven't already) citing scripture for that because Protestants say things like "Icons are demonic" and "saints are dead, you're praying to dead people and it takes away from The Father and it's idolatry" etc. I would love to hear your take on it, based in scripture for the Protestant crowd. Then I will refer them to your video. 😉 God bless you 🙏☦

Protestantism is relying on your own private interpretation of scripture- it's literally relying on man made traditions

Protestants : u can't loose your salvation.. Geez : I wonder why the bible talks about hell 3x more than heaven and emphasizes that hell is a real place and it's forever.

@@puromichoacan4213 No, I’m Orthodox. I was simply saying that Protestants will say you weren’t really saved if you lost your salvation because they don’t understand that once saved, always saved is a heterodox teaching.
