I live in a part of the world, where the real church does not exist... I have many devout catholic friends and family, who I am sure would be attracted by orthdoxy, but we are geographically cut off, as where my forefathers. Where does that leave us? Condemned?

I was an athiest. I mocked the idea of Gods existance. Until i died and stood before Jesus. His face is so bright it looks like the sun is front of it, he held his arms out and the light grew brighter and surrounded me. I felt SO much love and peace that it was Almost overwelhming.I will never mock or deny his name again.

My mother was raised in the Orthodox church in her home country of Latvia, but when she married my father, who was a Lutheran, she had my brother and I Christened, baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. However, she always used to sing to herself the hymns that she sang in the Orthodox church, and also play recordings of these hymns, and they really touched me deeper than the hymns sung in the Lutheran church. Recently, I heard a young Latvian girl singing the Agni Parthene Theotokos in both Greek and Latvian, but in either language, the hymn hit me deeply in the heart and soul. Then I listened to recordings of Orthodox choirs singing it. As a result, it drove away the demonic influences and bad thoughts that were plaguing me. Now I will convert to the Orthodox church.

[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic." ﴿ وَإِذْ أَوْحَيْتُ إِلَى الْحَوَارِيِّينَ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِي وَبِرَسُولِي قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّنَا مُسْلِمُونَ ﴾ [ المائدة: 111] 111. [And remember] when the disciples said, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, can your Lord send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven? [Jesus] said," Fear Allah, if you should be believers." And provide for us, and You are the best of providers." ﴿ قَالَ اللَّهُ إِنِّي مُنَزِّلُهَا عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بَعْدُ مِنكُمْ فَإِنِّي أُعَذِّبُهُ عَذَابًا لَّا أُعَذِّبُهُ أَحَدًا مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴾ [ المائدة: 115] 115. Allah said, "Indeed, I will sent it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterwards from among you - then indeed will I punish him with a punishment by which I have not punished anyone among the worlds." And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness. If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. Allah will say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment. They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers. They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God [Allah]. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger (prophet); [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded. ﴿ قُلْ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا ۚ وَاللَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴾ [ المائدة: 76] 76. yea, but my understanding (based on listening and talk to many believers there) is that in the USA, catholic and protestant Christianity is dominant but its very surface, not imbued with the Holy Spirit since they departed from the One Church (today called Orthodox) so Christians got bored with that cause they do not feel the God there and they seek it only to be found by muslim missionaries that will trick them for some time. That is why those who did not get bored in protestant or catholic (mostly those who preach and earn money) will give energy to fight their competition. Where here in Serbia and Bosnia, we have so many muslims who converted back in centuries under Ottoman occupation, we never touch them or try to convert, we respect their free will and live in peace with them. That is, to some extent cause USA demon government and NATO did manage to use religion for war in Bosnia back in 90s... @@TheMorallySuperior

@@ElenaRoche it's not Orthodoxy, it's a living contradiction. How could the Saints that say filioque is from Satan be venerated and dedicated a Sunday of Lent in Eastern Catholicism? @ElenaRoche
@ElenaRoche 2 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielaLtc Eastern Catholicism refers to the practice of Christianity in all places East of Rome. Rome developed a distinct way of worship in the West and today it is represented by Roman Catholics. Within Western Catholicism there are "Rights," so not all Western Catholics are Roman Catholics, however they are a majority. Eastern traditions of Christian spiritual life, worship, liturgy, prayer, etc. originated and developed in Jerusalem, Antioch, Constantinople, and Alexandria. For the first 900 years or so, East and West were in union. When the Great Schism of 1054 began, Eastern Christianity continued their Eastern traditions and Western Christianity became dominated by Roman Catholicism and spread not only in Europe but to the Americans, maintaining its West of Rome positions. Eastern Christianity stayed East of Rome, in Greece and Middle East, Eastern Europe, Russia, parts of Africa and Asia. Eastern Catholics are those Eastern Churches that either never broke their communion with Rome or rejoined in the past several centuries. Thus Catholicism now has about 24 Rights, mostly due to the different self-governing Eastern Catholic churches joining back, examples: Ruthenian Catholic Church, Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Catholic Church, Melkite Catholic Church, Siriac Catholic Church, etc. All of them are recognized by the Pope of Rome and all of them are Catholics who pray for the Pope.

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from the wrath of GOD which is spending an eternity in hell❗️ *What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! God came down to earth, (John 1:14) lived a perfect life, (1 Peter 2:22) and was betrayed by a disciple named Judas. (Matthew 27:3-4) Jesus was tried for blasphemy for claiming to be God and king of the Jews, was found guilty and sentenced to death. (Luke 23:2-25) He was scourged, spit on and beaten. (John 19:1-7) (Matthew 26:67) He was then forced to carry a cross, (John 19:17) to the place where he would be killed. He was nailed to a cross, died and was buried. (Matthew 27:35) (Mark 15:37) (Matthew 27:66) Three days later he rose from the dead. (Matthew 28:5-6) Through this, he defeated death. He offers salvation to any person, man or woman, black or white, poor or rich. (Galatians 3:28) All he asks you to do to get saved is believe on his sacrifice for the forgiveness of all your sins. (John 3:16) Trust in what he did today to cleanse you of all your sins, and my friend you will go to heaven the day you die. (Ephesians 1:10-14) If you have made that decision today, congratulations and make sure to find a Bible Believing Church near you, (realbiblebelievers.com/resources/bible-believing-church) get a KJV Bible (store.kjv1611.org/bibles/) and study dispensationalism. @@KZbinZevra Ah yes, the “there are so many churches” problem, and the “let’s create a new one to fix this!” solution. Now there are even more churches… Protestantism (and I say this as a Lutheran) had the right idea - to correct the prodigal son, the stray latin church member that thought it was the head of the whole body. But the wrong solution was applied, to create a new independent cell from the body, which then now has metastasized into a multitude of sub-cells outside the body. Instead, they should have returned to join the with the orthodox body in the correct order and place, and heal the covenant. And that shall still be done.

I went and then I came back to the USA and found an Orthodox Priest and studied to become Orthodox. As I converted I saw how The Orthodox Christian Church WAS COMPLETE AND WITHOUT inconsistent beliefs. Everything fit together and I saw in Greece the Rock from where Saint Paul Preached. When I studied Greek and began to see how what the Bible said was totally coherent and not all over the place. The authority of the Church under the guidance of Holy Spirit developed the Cannon of the Bible exactly as Father Spyridon so clearly states in this outstanding video. Jesus is not God, not even the Son of God! According to the Bible God says: "Behold, this is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom I am well pleased. I will put My Spirit upon Him and He will declare justice to the nations. Matthew 12:18 Jesus was a prophet and not God! Now when the people saw the sign that Jesus did, they said, "Truly this is the prophet who is to come into the world." John 6:14 Jesus is said to have helped a woman. In Mark 7:26, the woman is said to be a Greek, where the same woman in Matthew 15:21-22 is a Canaanite'in (Syrian Palestinian)! One event, but two different statements??? God's book is supposed to have errors? Jesus said, “I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent me. “John 5:29, 6:38 Pig in the Bible " and the pig, for though it divides the hoof, thus making a split hoof, it does not chew cud, it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you."!!!! Leviticus 11:7-8 (On KZbin: type in "World of Miracles Islam" and watch how the evidence has been shrouded by the Church!) I invite all non-Muslims to Islam. After Jesus comes a prophet! " But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the (c)Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. 8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me;… I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you." John 16:7-9, 12-14 "Right," said Jesus; "After all, it is already written, "The stone that the builders threw away because they considered it useless has now become the foundation stone of the whole house. What no one thought possible, God is doing before your eyes.' Therefore I say to you: The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who obey God. Whoever does not reckon with God must fail, and whoever rebels against God, God will destroy." Matthew 21:42-44 The verses are about the "Paraclete" in the original Greek, which means "Ahmad" in Arabic. Muhammed (as.) is also in the Bible as you see. Jesus brought only one book, where do these others come from? If there is no prophet, where did the New Testament come from??? Today's Bible is not one book, but a collection of 66 different books! 39 Old Testament and 27 New. The books of the Bible were written over a period of 1500 years, by more than 40 scribes, most of whom did not know each other! Old Testament: Hebrew, partly Aramaic; the New Testament: Greek. Can ever a messenger doubt God? If Jesus is God, (according to the lies of the devil and his followers) why does he need help from God if he is God? " Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me" Matthew 27: 45-46 The Bible and Torah have been altered by man. The originals are no longer extant and there are only translations where the authenticity is not provable. Trinity 100 % excluded! Monotheism 100% There is only one God Jesus answered: "The first is: Hear, Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord! Mark 12:29 "No one has ever seen God" John 1:18 Jesus said, "My Lord and my God." @@savagereign coming from someone who shares most of his beliefs with the protestant church, the whole "call no man father" idea is not about not using the word father (or Pater, as is in the greek). If it were literal, "honor your father and mother" wouldn't use the same word in the septuagint, and Paul would not call himself the church's spiritual "pater" (the word used by Jesus). Calling a priest father is not consequential unless you believe them to be the origin of truth, as Jesus is talking about. Either you serve God or you serve Satan, and elevating a man to the level of God is what he is warning against. So, I would say calling the pope "holy father" is risky, I'd say, but calling someone Father This or Father That is not problematic.

It might be a bumpy ride due to my sins sometimes, but that doesn't alter the truth and beauty. Two things are especially remarkable: 1. Not all Orthodox people are holy, but each holy person, that I have met, was Orthodox. 2. The West has not understood at all the whole nature of salvation, starting from Genesis. There you are saved by God from God and his pseudo-justice (a real nonsense), in Orthodoxy you are saved from the devil, sin, corruption and death - as an object of love. Glory to God!

Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

Excellent summary of the vast difference between the understanding of salvation from both protestant and orthodox. I used to be a protestant. Now I'm converting to orthodoxy. I started doing real study, dug into the actual historical church, and realized we in the protestant church have been brought up on scriptural one-liners out of context, completely ignored the early church fathers, and built our religion in rebellion to the authoritarianism of Roman Catholic "Church", throwing the baby out with the bathwater in the process. We are only the worse for it. Such a shame.

I’m only 5 minutes in, but I’m loving the similarities in the timing of the search. I was born and raised in the church of Rome. I came to the logical conclusion that that church was not the one true Church when I was 16. I then began studying every religion I could find searching for the truth. For some reason I just accepted that the Orthodox Church was an offshoot of the Roman church because that’s what I’d been taught growing up. No clue why I didn’t question THAT belief other than thinking there was no way a liturgy that looked as ornate as the pictures I saw could be the real deal. No more thought given to it for years… When I was 23, I proposed to my college girlfriend and realized I needed to be part of a church because I’d always assumed I’d get married in one. One day, during law school, I was awake early enough on a Sunday to hear noise from the St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church in Dekalb, Illinois. I decided to go. That parish spoke about 80% Greek in liturgy back then. So I started learning what koine Greek I could and started attending liturgy regularly. The Priest seemed suspicious of me and put me through an intense study period before I could be chrismated. While also attending St. George’s in Rock Island, Illinois, where Im from, Father Leo Gavrilos got to know me and determined I understood Orthodox theology and history better than most if not all the cradle orthodox in the parish. He offered to perform my chrismation as soon as I’d like. So I was chrismated when I was 25. That was 2005. Been Orthodox since. 😁

I don't worry if you don't call another man "Father". Keep in mind that Jesus instructs us not to call anybody else a "teacher" (or Rabbi) in Matthew 23:8-10 either but we use that term all the time. I suspect Jesus is referring to the Jewish religious leaders (Pharisees) in those Bible verses rather than not using that specific word for the rest of time..but I could be wrong. It is really not a major point of contention for me personally and see A LOT wrong, bad theology/philosophy and heresies in almost all Protestant Churches at the moment, issues that are of more importance to me. The use of the word "Father" is something I have thought about a lot in the past and given it a lot of consideration and have arrived at the point I have just moved on it. @@neilwhitaker6284 - As I have said many times, it's ok to refer to oneself as a spiritual father guiding children to the path of righteousness, but it's another thing for those children to refer to you as a father. The Bible is clear that we can use terms like Steward, Deacon, Elder, but not father. It's the same as having women teachers in a church, and a valid reason when you see so many false teachers, preachers, and prophetesses that have led countless souls to their eternal deaths. I'm not here to argue semantics, just to reinforce what is actually written in scripture. And any 'establishment' that opposes what scripture presents as THE GOSPEL, is not worthy of my allegiance. Christ is the ONLY ONE who can save anyone from anything, and so it would be prudent to follow the instructions of Christ.

More I see Christ everywhere, and absence of Him in some views and thoughts and dogmas(non Christian dogmas) and ideas, and I see Christ almost literally everywhere Like - in Truth... Christ is the Truth, where is Truth there is Christ And that's 180⁰ degrees opposite of what our modern secularized, protestantized Christianity and modern atheist world teaches - as if one has to close eyes in order to see God, as if it's irrational, it's not logical, et cetera But more I learn about what actually Church Fathers talked about.... It's wow, it's lack of logic to think otherwise, it's lack of logic to think about God being not real It is so fundamentally so that Christ and Christian (Orthodox) paradigm is the only logically valid paradigm, logically valid set of ideas, it's the only logical worldview, whole paradigm is the only one If anybody told me this a year ago I'd think he's crazy fanatic And we have to be fanatically Christian but in a good way, we must be 100% Christian

Mark 12:29 "No one has ever seen God" John 1:18 Jesus said, "My Lord and my God." John 20:28 This in itself rules out the idea that God Himself became man.... Learn about Islam

@@jcgurl3773 Hope you don't.mond me sharing my experience... I was a cradle Catholic, raised in a more traditional kind of church community and I was very involved since childhood. But once I moved away from that community (college, etc), I found it really difficult to find that closeness I longed for in the more modern RC churches. I would convince myself to go to Mass only to leave feeling empty. Back in 2017, I went to confession for the first time in many years. It felt so good! It was also a catalyst for me to pick up my search for a deeper knowledge of God. Through a friend, I started attending a TLM church with my young children. I really loved it, at first. But after a few months of learning more about church history, I just couldn't justify what the RC church was teaching, especially since some of it was CLEARLY not even remotely Roman Catholic teaching, such as double predestination!! I was flabbergasted when a priest was teaching it at a church mission and nobody there batted an eyelash or questioned what he was saying. That led me deeper into church history. When I found myself thinking I needed to find a pre-Vatican I church, I thought, well, I might as well go ALL the way back and check out the Eastern Orthodox Church! The final nail on the coffin for me, though, was words from a TLM exorcist priest, Fr. Ripperger, who said that the devil tries to keep God from our thoughts - he wants us to think about ANYTHING but God, no matter how righteous it may seem. I felt that all the legalism and lack of being able to question the RC faith in the TLM circles and the misplaced emphasis on Mary was keeping me from God. So I made the move to Orthodoxy with my husband and children and have never looked back!

@@FirstnameLastname-py3bc Miaphysitism isn't in itself the problem, because there is an Orthodox understanding of miaphysitism as expressed by the Fifth Ecumenical Council as an olive branch to the Copts and Orientals, in an attempt to bring them back into communion. The problem is how the term is defined and what it communicates about the nature of Christ's incarnation. Considering that the Copts and Orientals rejected the Fifth Council's definition, they are (or at least were) more properly monophysitists. Pope Shenouda III did once say that he could accept the Fourth Council insofar as it was interpreted and understood through the Fifth, which is a good step forward. But nothing, apparently, came of it. Perhaps the Copts and Orientals _were_ monophysitists and are now miaphysitists (as they claim to be), but they still would have to accept the later Councils that they rejected so long ago if communion was to be reestablished.

It’s an incredible way of looking at things that I want to share with my friends in church because I do see certain doctrines that deviate from Christs authority in the church and have catered to the cultures beliefs. As someone in a position of influence in the church I seek to lead people to the truth that as orthodoxy says, salvation isn’t a moment thing, it must be worked out. Not that works save us, but that God would work out His will in our spirits as we become more like Him. I love learning about early church history and will talk about this more with the lead pastors at my church.
