Father Spyridon, can you teach us or explain how to pray for others, eg our enemies? I know the Jesus Prayer, etc morning prayers, night prayers, prayers to saints. etc. But i am yet to find out how to pray for others who are probably not even Christian, those who abuse us, lie to us, cause us troubles. I have been looking for weeks and months, i simply do not know the correct method, the words? Which prayer? Short or long? Jesus prayer is for us, for me. But how to pray for others? I know short prayers via saints but i get stuck as eg St George pray to God for Person X Name, then St George pray for mentioned servant. But our enemies may not be Gods servants. So.. I am left confused. Can you provide a link to a prayer or explain how to do it? In English, Russian or Serbian?

What an exceptional sermon today. Speaking for myself I absolutely repent, fall, get up, sin again, fall, repent, get up, sin again. It truly is a daily struggle and a journey as I can attest. And when I think I have certain sins under control on a stretch of time I get swept away again by demonic attack or worldly temptations. I know Christ promised us life for those who hold out until the very end. It isn't easy at all to be Christ-like.

I get excited every time I see that you put out a new video. It is always such a blessing to both hear and see you. My protestant background has always limited this parable to a single event of salvation as they teach, rather than the continual sowing of seeds throughout our journey towards salvation.

This is tragically one of the shortcoming of the English translations of the Bible. The original Greek verb states that we are to "keep on repenting" and "keep on running the race".

For much of my life I misunderstood this parable until, one day, a Catholic Benedictine monk explained it to me, and I realised it is not about the world, but about the turning of the heart towards God 👍
@0nly0NE.2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I was taught from Protestants that we are saved, being saved, and will be saved. There is a first moment where your heart turns toward Christ, gains an understanding of His salvation, repents, and chooses to follow Him. And then throughout this life is the sanctification process where one who is truly following Christ becomes more Christlike. And then there is the final and complete cleansing of our sin and renewing of our body.

John 15:6 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. Christ also tells us how we abide in Him. John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. Christ also tells us what His commandments are. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Then what is love? John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. What are friends? John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. What is the command again? John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
