My church was graced with the presence of a bishop today for an ordination and a pontifical divine liturgy. It was the first time I've ever seen a bishop, there aren't many of them in the southeastern United States yet. The strengthening of Christ's church is unstoppable though, I'm sure in time that bishops will become a common sight around these parts.

Amen Father. It is sad to see those who make an attempt to enter into Gods Church, but the demon of pride within their hearts goes to work right away. They are immediately attacked with thoughts of imagined (or unimagined) offenses, and they leave not having received the hope and love which only a little humility, enables us to receive. Was a wave of church burnings în Norway/Sweden/Denmark by a new wave of heavy metal/death metal, în the 1980's... youth.. bands.. libertine policies.. the arrogance of adolescence.. wordly values.. sad to see history repeating itself.. takes a lot of hate - an unwordly amount of hate - to be able to do something like that

Where I live in Europe there are a lot of small but growing Orthodox parishes that are looking to buy property to expand. It is very difficult to find anything affordable. There are often unused Roman Catholic churches that are standing empty, but the Catholic dioceses won't sell them to us Orthodox, because "we aren't ecumenical enough". So they sell them to the Muslims or tear them down. Go figure.

In my home town the church I grew up in, was married in, and in which I buried my parents, was burned to the ground almost and is now being rebuilt. The local priest a little time back was accused of abusing those in his care. It is thought one of those abused ones lit the fire Now the church is no longer seen as you describe it Father. The sexual abuse scandal may well be the abomination in the sacred place and I have no answer for it other than prayer and penance. Satan has won the people over to his own cause and who can blame them?

Dear Father, I have been considering Orthodoxy for a few days now but the biggest question that I have which was one of the reason I left Catholicism is praying to the saints for intersection. Honest question, If this was a permissible practice why none of the disciples did it? Why no one prayed to the first martyrs e.g Saint Stephen? How can saints gain the ability to listen to the prayers of multiple people praying to them at the same time? Hello, at the grave of St Polycarp, the first Christian martyr outside the NT te first Christians prayed and served Liturgies on his tomb. It has always been a Christian practice - for over two hundred years before the bishops decided on the canon of scripture. Can you quite the scripture showing the Apostles using the Lord’s Prayer? No, but similarly we know they did. God bless you.
