I sadly never got the chance to see Jack Rose live, actually got into his music years after his death, love listening to his songs and play some of them on guitar (to the best of my abilities). Even though he's been gone for some time now he's definitely not forgotten, his legacy and his fantastic music will live on! Thank you for the music Jack, see you down the line!

14yrs gone. Still not forgotten and being discovered by younger people now like me, I was only 8 when he died. May he rest in peace, and may more discover this music.

All due respect to the man and his legacy; if I may make an inquiry into his preference of strings: does anyone know if he was a medium gauge or light gauge player?

6 years late, but he used John pearse or daddario phosphor bronze 12s

+Ciccio B.A. Granatello I think that one was "Woodpiles by the Side of the Road" before the title was used for the track that's on Luck in the Valley.

I'm actually pretty certain--check out the comment from Nathan himself at the bottom of this page: delta-slider.blogspot.com/2010/12/big-post-of-jack-rose-bootlegs.html You can also download this full show (7/10/09) and hear Jack reference the song by this name before playing it.

+Peter Johnsmeyer Oh ok, but he spokes about the 2nd track. Anyway I'll listen the full show for sure. Thanks a lot Peter.

Yep, this video isn't the full recording. The first track in the full show is a medley of Kensington Blues, Blessed Be the Name of the Lord, Sail Away Ladies, and Luck in the Valley.
