this song's aged well, like a fine wine and fiona herself. way to go fifi. having matt on the drums is a huge plus, you'd be hard-pressed to find a groovier drummer with his precision.

This song went right over my head when it first came out and I bought her album on the day it was released. (I've got the album version where the red layer on the cover is detachable.) I was mature enough for "Tidal", but "When the Pawn" required me to grow up first. This song is awesome!

Lyrics I let beast in too soon, I don't know how to live Without my hands on his throat; I fight him always and still O darling, it's so sweet, You think you know how crazy How crazy I am You say you don't spook easy, You won't go But I know And I pray that you will Fast as you can Baby run free yourself of me Fast as you can I may be soft in your palm But I'll soon grow hungry for a fight And I will not let you win My pretty mouth Will frame the phrases that Will disprove your faith in man So if you catch me trying To find my way into your Heart from under your skin Fast as you can Baby scratch me out Free yourself Fast as you can Fast as you can Baby scratch me out Free yourself Fast as you can Sometimes my don't shake and shift But most of the time, it does And I get to the place Where I'm begging for a lift Or I'll drown in the wonders And the was And I'll be our girl, If you say it's a gift And you give me some more or your drugs Yeah, I'll be your pet, If you just tell me it's a gift 'Cause I'm tired of whys, choking on whys, Just need a little because, because, I let the beast in and then; I even tried forgiving him, But it's too soon So I'll fight again, again, again, again, again And for a little while more I'll soar the uneven wind Complain and blame The sterile land But if you're getting any bright ideas Quiet dear I'm blooming within Fast as you can, Baby wait watch me, I'll be out Fast as I can Maybe late but at least about Fast as you can Leave me Let this thing run its route Fast as you can Fast as you can Fast as you can Fast as you can

What place take in this Lady Gaga? this singer is amazing and not copy of Madona as Gaga. Just apreciate the talent and art of Fiona, does not compares, she does not to need to wear extravagant dresses and make ups like a clown or sell sex. This is real art and talent. FIONA IS GREAT NOT COMERCIAL PRODUCT.

I don't know LG's music yet, but who can blame her for good showmanship and a sharp business sense? Anyway here's an excerpt from an interview LG did with Billboard: “If you’re an artist,” she says, “and there is something you got to give, and you don’t even know why, but you were born that way, focus on that. Because that thing can’t be wrong." She puts her hands on her head, fingers intertwined, and goes quiet for a moment. “I can’t tell you what a comfort Fiona Apple has been during this time,” she continues. Apple’s latest, Fetch the Bolt Cutters, has been Gaga’s constant soundtrack - when she’s cooking, when she’s alone - and it has provided her with another kind of artistic compass. She’s been moved by the way it feels like there’s no distance between Apple’s music and her life. “I just reveled in the way that girl is so herself,” she says. “Anybody that’s going to tell me somebody is more relevant than Fiona Apple right now because they’ve got more followers on Instagram - I don’t have their number.”
@imkorona65922 жыл бұрын
Why do you need to put down another artist like Gaga? (who by the way, it's AN AMAZING and succesful artist) Both her and Fiona are special and cool in their own way

I actually think that her beauty to begin with matches her beauty now, only in a different way (as one might expect). She's looking incredible more and more. There was a metamorphosis somewhere along the way, she's always been pretty but she had a true beauty when she appeared and, now, as she approaches what society defines as middle age, she's looking truly beautiful again. It's still her but... ugh, I'm rambling, I'm having trouble expressing what I mean. What's the need? She's gorgeous is all, radiant.
