Re:The fact that he said he grabbed her phone from out of the toilet. ....at 3:00 a.m. In the morning she brought her phone in the bathroom and locked the door( by his own admission he had to reach in and unlock it) she brought the phone in the bathroom and locked the door because she was afraid of him. He fired thru the door to prevent her from calling 911 because he was so worried it would end up on the news . He was so worried about his image he killed her because she threatened to call the police.

My exact thoughts! I think he got out of controle in a fight and she screamed locked herself into the toilet threatened to call the police. He got so mad that he shot once into the toilet to make her come out. He had injured her at the hipp and she screamed more and told him that she was hit. He got scared because now he is really in trouble and might be expose as a guy who is abusing women. He makes the decision to fire another 3 shots to kill her.

If you disagree or have altering stories do reply. The night reeva was killed. Reeva was at the house before oscar arrived. She had something to eat as found in the autopsy, she then used the restroom after eating, also found in autopsy. She then told oscar to come home as she needed to talk, oscar arrived, they had been arguing the night before and both began arguing again. Before I go on you need to understand that reeva knew things oscar did not want her to know, like the other shootings and also his violent temper towards her. Reeva said she'd met up with her ex again at lunch, something oscar knew she'd done in the past and hated her doing as he's extremely protective, she said this is so hard we are not working, making oscar even more angry, arguing began, she yells at him telling him she needs to leave him, she is not happy anymore. He can't stand hearing this, he grabs the baseball, and chases her with it, screaming is now heard, he manages to make small contact with her, evidence show from some bruising on her body. Reeva runs to the bathroom, he hits the door with the bat, but can't get in, he runs for his firearm, she yells I'm calling the police, the door is now locked, I cant handle this she says, I need to leave, stop this, stop! She crys. she won't actually call the police, it is simply a threat, something she had hoped would slow him down. Instead this enrages him further. He now returns with the firearm and shoots at her with all intention to finish her, firing 4 shots and killing her. Unfortunately the rest is irrelevant, this is the story of the night Reeva Steenkamp was killed by a raging oscar.

If he have nothing to hide...he should not have nothing to worry about and speak naturally and honestly. The fact that he makes it difficult says it all. Also a lot of things don't make sense. Let's just say he never seen his gf head to the bathroom (let's give him that), who the hell would just head to the bathroom with a gun without confirming that she's still in the bed? Every human being would say something like "honey, did you hear that?" "i heard a sound in the bathroom." This would confirm that your gf is with you before you're head to the bathroom to investigate. He clearly did not do that and can't invent a story like this because that would confirm she's with him. Also, if you have gun with you, what the hell are you afraid of?? And if you see the robber is in the bathroom...you would have turned on the light and wait and ask who's inside. And why the hell a robber want to hide inside a toilet lol stupid and locked LOL. And why would you shoot without asking who's inside? Any human would say...."who's inside?" when holding a gun. And clearly he realize if he said that, his gf would reply to him...so he can't invent that story. All these tell me this fool is a fucking liar. I think they had a big argument and she was scared of him and go inside the bathroom. He threatened to shoot her and he did with 4 rounds ....whether he intend to just hurt her or killed her..i don't know but clearly he doesn't care at that point due to absolute anger.

At the very end of this segment he convicts himself of culpable homicide. You can't just shoot 4x with hollow point ammo into a confined space like that toilet because of a "perceived threat". Its not a resonable excuse. He didn't see anything. He didn't hear an intruders voice. Nobody threatened him. He didn't even check the window for a ladder, so there's no way anyone could even have entered from outside. He's so concerned about the implications that he continually waffles on it being an accident. By continually saying "I didnt have time to think", without there being any real threat, only secured his guilt.

If anyone comes across my comment, would you please explain to me the significance of the plastic bags, rope and tape that was found at the murder scene. From what I have watched ( a lot) those items where only touched on fleetingly by POs' defence council. Oscar did not give a proper answer as to why he had them. Has anyone got any ideas what he may have intended to use them for. My mind is working over time, and coming up with some pretty bad ideas. I personally would not have put anything past Oscar Pistorius. He was/is a manipulative man. Who would do anything to save his own skin.

The plastic bags, rope, and tape you mentioned were significant pieces of evidence presented during the trial. They were found at Oscar Pistorius' residence and were subject to questioning by the prosecution. The prosecution argued that these items could potentially be used for nefarious purposes and implied that Pistorius may have had sinister intentions. However, it's important to note that the defense argued that these items had innocent explanations. For instance, Pistorius claimed that he had the plastic bags and tape to cover a broken window and the rope for various household tasks. His defense team's position was that these items were not related to the murder and should not be used to implicate him.

In case the line of questioning is confusing to some, in South African law of evidence, there is something called "the golden thread". Lawyers try to weave the thread through many apparently unrelated pieces of evidence in order to paint what is a bigger picture of guilt. This is what Nel is doing. Also, the defence had presented lots of character evidence (e.g Oscar is a good man etc). Nel has to counter this by showing that Oscar is actually a bad man. The most trivial of details are important when leading or breaking down character evidence.

I was convinced that he was innocent in the beginning of the trial , but after watching the case till now , Im not so sure anymore . Why was the toilet door locked in the first place . There was know need for her to lock the door past 3 in the morning .It would be understandable if it was 3 in the afternoon , and they had lots of people over . The only way this can work is if they had a fight , and she ran to the toilet to escape . He came down the hall way and tried to open the door , she didn't open and he told her to open the door or he will shoot .He shot at the door not meaning to kill her , just to give her a freight . And by doing this he killed her by accident . Then he probably tried shouting to her thought the other side , He heard no response and went into a panic , knowing that he must have shot her . After that he bashed the door down , and cried probably saying ( WHAT DID I DO )
@nisipeace46410 жыл бұрын
Shooting at the door was a stupid way to "give her a fright". Only a control freak would do something like that. Reeva was already in fear. She was heard crying and screaming prior to the gunshots. Who wouldn't scream out in pain after a gunshot shattered their hip?? That shot was prior to the shot to her head. OP claims he could hear nothing due to the blasts of the gun, yet still insists she wasn't screaming. And what about after he dragged her down the stairs, then got garbage bags, rope and tape… wth?!?

What about her locking the door after Oscar shouted get out of the house (sounding scared)? Dont you think if you heard your partner shouting at 3am in the morning you would also think there is someone in the house and then lock the door in the bothroom with no windows......might be the safest place in the house actually! Think about this whole thing with an open mind, I think he is guilty for killing someone, but it might not have been his intention to kill Reeva. No one is able to understand the truth and neither will he be able to convince people because everybody is looking at him to convict him!! So obviously everything will be inturpretted more towards him lying than saying the truth. These prosecuters are brilliant at sucking out what they want the courts to hear, they are not letting him say what really happen, everytime he says something, they would say he is lying!! I think it depends how evasive the answers are. You could tell the judge was pissed for the rest of the session after people in the gallery laughed. Oscar's emotional ramble at the end was so frustrating to listen to, he's going on about how he doesn't understand what's being put to him and he didn't mean to shoot anyone blah blah blah....when it's clearly a very simple set of questions being put to him. "Did you fire the gun with the intent to shoot at the intruder who you perceived to be coming out to attack you?" He has to admit that he aimed and fired the gun because it's too implausible to say it went off 4 times accidentally (if it was one shot maybe he could've use that argument again) and its not credible to say he doesn't remember it at all but he will deny up and down that he intentionally fired the weapon because that would effectively be admitting to culpable homicide. Fortunately I think the judge will see through this bs and correctly find him guilty, preferably of both counts.

At no time did OP CHECK to see WHERE Reeva was BEFORE he fired four shots through the door. He did NOT call emergency services first, he called a friend of his, a lady lawyer...like, what the hell is SHE going to do? Why would you NOT call emergency services instead of some idiot lawyer? And why tell the guard everything is fine when clearly it was not? and then all those sad messages from Reeva, trying so hard to make a go of this impossible relationship. As her friend Maddie Smith stated "He was either loving or angry" nothing in between. He picked at her almost constantly. and breaking down the door with the cricket bat? Never happened, he beat Reeva with that cricket bat which is why she fled in terror to hide in the bathroom, poor thing, her terror must have been off the charts.
@clarkyclarky9010 жыл бұрын
Were there bruises found on here body at all? is this what you think happened? It seems like a good interpretation of what could have happened that night after he snapped when reeva told him she had met up with her ex and wanted to break up with him, what started with arguing led to him possible hitting her, she yelling and screaming when he continue to try and hit her with the bat, she then ran to the bathroom, yelling I want to leave! Leave me be! He then ran to get his firearm, she locked the door and sat on the toilet possibly hands on face crying, he then walked back to the door and shot the 4 shots. This is the story and the death of reeva
@schuylerjohnson305110 жыл бұрын
His first shot shattered her hip, at which point she was screaming for her life and he new, at that point, it was her life or his so he killed her by firing three more shots, but he KNEW it was Reeva. NOT an intruder. As to bruises I don;t know but her head showed a lot of trauma which may have been from him hitting her in the head with the cricket bat before she ran and hid in the bathroom. He also messed with the crime scene by removing her body from the bathroom and carrying it downstairs.

The only thing that makes oscars version not work is , that he approached the danger . Why didn't he take reeva and himself out through the sliding door . And why didn't he wake her when he grabbed his gun . If he tried to wake her he would have noticed that she wasn't in the bedroom .I think his hiding something , This cross examiner looks like his on to it .The only thing I can think of is that reeva and him had a fight about something , she ran to the toilet and locked herself in it . He came done the hall way into the toilet , and told her to come out or he will shoot . He shot her , knowing that the area in the toilet is very small . After shooting her he got such a freight what he did , and broke down the door and creating a innocent looking version . We must remember that reeva was a very attractive women , He is a man with no legs and jealousy could have got the better of him . He could have thought that she would go for a man that could have given her more . If he is guilty then I hope he gets what he deserves , life in prison . But if it was an accident then , I hope for his sack that the court goes easy on him . We will just have to wait and see what the out come will be .

Not one statement in this trial has established Oscar as a liar. The prosecution is just grabbing at straws. If you were on the stand for your life your brain might not remember as much detail as you think. It is definitely to early to make such a harsh judgment.

true. Many people are suffering, except Roux, Inc, who knew he hooked a huge fish and is fighting this as long as he can milk the money, then cut bait. His fee can only be afforded by a super-rich client, obviously. Go Nel! Justice for rich and poor alike.

Rob Smoot has a point. The case is not over. There's still a psychological expert to testify for the defense that Oscar is experienced PTSD which would explain his lack of memory and mistakes. Also the credibility of the state's witnesses needs to be called into question, for example a scorned ex lover who would possibly lie about him shooting through the sunroof and about him shouting at her just so he can go to prison.

Listening to the evidence I feel that without a confession from Oscar Pistorius there is nothing in the evidence which could prove that Reeva's death was not the result of a terrible accident but a planned and ruthlessly carried out premeditated murder....why would he kill her? His life is in ruins and the poor girl has lost her life.
@danielking983010 жыл бұрын
It could be a murder, and in the bigger scheme of things a terrible accident, at the same time. The intent to shoot and kill someone only has to last a split second for it to be a murder. Some jurisdictions call a murder in the heat of the moment as a crime of passion, which is different to a ruthless planned killing; you wouldn't probably consider all the long term consequences if you were acting out of anger or perhaps as he says out of fear, but the responsibility still stays with you.
@MaureenMaynes10 жыл бұрын
Yes I completely agree with your analysis; only he will ever know the truth. However, what ever the outcome; Oscar Pistorius must live with what happened forever. I'm listening to the trial now and I think some evidence is coming to light which is very damaging to Pistorius.

From halfway across the world I totally agree. Half the statements put to Pistorius seem to be in the forms of nonquestions which he is expected to answer. Musings on seemingly unrelated events and hypothetical situations where Pistoriious is suppoed to speculate what someone else might have been thinking. It seems to me to serve no purpose other than to befuddle and exhaust both Pistoriuous and observors, and perhaps draw out the trial and increase everybodys fees!
@susanlarhubarbe94753 жыл бұрын
Yes, halfway across the world is the key phrase, which means you don’t understand this legal system. These questions about state of mind and hypothetical questions are central to the question of mens rea - being intention( direct or indirect) and negligence which use different standards and tests. Unless you have some legal training, you won’t understand Advocate Nel’s approach.
@susanlarhubarbe94753 жыл бұрын
@@carmeldipped1 he was skating the issues. If you can’t discern how vacillating and contradictory he was under cross- examination which I believe fairly tested his version/s; then you’re being naive or delusional.

Irrespective of whether Oscar is guilty or not the fact is that this prosecutor is playing with words and hammering on the wrong stuff. I am not coming up for Oscar however I know how dangerous the Gauteng area is. So, like I do, you drive with a firearm on you for self defense. You get to the Vaal dam. What are you supposed to do with your firearm---you needed it while driving the 90+km (50+ miles) pass dangerous settlements! Now you want to go on the boat. If you go on the boat and you leave your weapon in the car you are guilty of negligence since you may not leave it in your vehicle. You take it on the boat with you because any police officer and a person with a little commonsense will tell you this is the better/ right thing to do. you are not taking your "firearm to a party" as this prosecutor moron is trying to portray!So, you are in a little boat on the Vaal dam with close friends and trust them. There are no robbers on the boat or out there on the water. So now under a controlled situation with trustable friends and with no other boats or criminal around you, you want to take a swim....does this stupid prosecutor want him to swim with his gun on him. What must the man do? Ok this prosecutor tries to proof that with a round in the chamber it is dangerous and irresponsible----it is typical that this prosecutor does not know firearms. He goes down the wrong path. It is time that this prosecutor need to fall under the hands of the South African criminals because he is unfair and he paints a unfair picture in respect to the boat -Vaal dam portion. Secondly, You may keep ammunition for someone else in your safe but you may not keep someone else's firearm without a letter covering both parties---the was the case before I left South Africa a few years ago! (Many a time my parents from Namibia came to visit us in Pretoria and my father had his pistol with him in the car. When they arrived at my house my father's pistol went into my save. We even went to the police and recorded it there in a letter because that is what the Police at the Moot police station told us to do) Oscar did not have the firearm or a 9-mm (.38) firearm for that ammunition at the time--- If this is how low the prosecution level dropped in South Africa and this shows where the logic of a 'educated man (prosecutor) is going, no wonder criminals have the overhand and is getting away with everything-he has no commonsense. Look at the court cases in the USA ---the judge and jury would have told this prosecutor he is way off the track.
@astrolight10010 жыл бұрын
Ok so, the story is simple: Reeva went in the toilet as Oscar was bringing in the fans. He did not hear her footsteps on the carpet as the fans were blowing in his face. He hears a noise from the bathroom (toilet door) and assuming that Reeva is in bed, thinks an intruder is in his house. He whispers to Reeva to call the police - she doesnt hear because of the fans and the fact that she is now n the toilet. He yells "Get the F*** Outta My House!!!". Reeva thinks he is talking to her and locks the door out of fear and doesnt say a word. She freezes. Oscar shoots then realizes Reeva is not there, breaks the toilet door and finds to find her taking her last breathes. This story is immensely tragic but rationally it is possible. Horror stories such as this do happen. If he had broken the toilet door before shooting, then I would think he could be guilty, but since it was proven to be the contrary, it does support Oscar's testimony. Besides, who would commit murder through a door? This case is puzzling to say the least.
