Oscar the Labrador - Assistance Dog Residential - Silver Award

Oscar the Labrador has returned home after his 4 week assistance dog residential training stay where he has completed his silver award!
We have also worked on some mitigating tasks during his stay and Oscar can now do DPT and pick up items for his owner. Oscar has also learnt how to press buttons to open doors, all skills that will help his owner in day to day life.
We also worked on his obedience and ensured it was reliable around distractions in order to pass his silver award. Oscar can now walk on loose lead in a variety of locations around dogs and people too. Oscar is generally a calmer boy around distractions and can follow cues such as sit, down and wait in many different locations such as shops, town and on busy walks.
Oscar has done a great job of learning to settle in public and at home meaning we have been able to introduce some more calm into his life.
