I never got the DiCaprio thing. I’m not suggesting he didn’t deserve to win an Oscar, but people were making a big fuss about him always being nominated and never winning, when in actuality the year everyone made a big deal of it after Wolf of Wall Street, he had only been nominated 4 times. There’s many other actors and actresses who had been nominated just as many times, many had been nominated more and not won. He won for his 5th nomination, and now he’s on 6. But like, that’s not as big a number as people made out.

despite the whole ellen-workplace-scandal, you cannot deny that this was one of, if not, the best opening monologues. She highlights everyone's hard work in a humorous sense that does not take away anyone's dignity at expense. She also mentions special guests. Ellen as a comedian is as natural as it gets. The timing, the interaction and let's not forget the pizza delivery! Definitely one of the most memorable oscars to date.
