Let's generate infinite ear candy by recording crispy acoustic bits. We record wood, glass, and metal bits and then trigger them in big splashes of MIDI random data which makes tasty churns.
This technique was inspired by such hybrid electronica artists like Bonobo and Gold Panda.
BTW, if you don't have Note Echo, you can achieve a similar effect with the Arpeggiator in non-sync mode!

I used to do it manually, since the glitch music heyday, circa 2000-2002. At some point, I was recording everything in the house, and ended up with a great percussion sound library. Great tips.

amazing! Bonobo did this all by hand though, there used to be a video of him making kong in cubase, he zoomed in and placed all the different hats and cymbals etc individually. Changed my whole perspective on whats possible if you take the time.

Otomo is such a great track. The way the different metallic percussions blend together with the Bulgarian choir sample is truly creative. I use Cakewalk, which doesn't have the same tools as Live, but I've been able to use Sitala to organize sounds manually and I'm really starting to like this style of making percussion. Thank you for all your tutorials!

Man, I have to tell you that I really like your chanel. I started following it when I switched from fl to ableton to make techno. So coming here you could say I was a propper rookie. Your videos in which you explain everything in detail (I specifically remeber the way you explained parallel effects) gave me a huge conceptual understanding of how to use a DAW. Even your more hands on stuff was amazingly uncolored musically. Like providing your clients with studio monitors instead of bass boosted mixes. Your personality reminds me of what phare ll tries to be but can't become casue he got too much ego hahahaha.
