1:18 Phill you can actually keep all the text messages if you move all the texts to your sim card you can transfer it onto the new phone. i know it’s to late now but if your dad still has his old phone you just out the sim on the old phone and move the texts to the sim then you swop the sim card from the old phone back in the new one. this only works on android and not iphone

I 'upgraded' to the Galaxy S5 in November 2016 from a cheap ZTE and whilst I was happy with it initially, it became very slow. The S5 is virtually obsolete in 2018 because it's stuck on Android 6.0, which came out in 2015 (more than 3 years ago). I now have an iPhone SE (which is only a year older than the Galaxy S5) and I love it! It's fast, and still supports the latest firmware.

There is an app called "Samsung Smart Switch" that you can use to transfer all the text messages, contacts, call logs, e.c.t from the iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy S5.

I know a few people that would leave the initial plastic so they wouldn't have to buy a screen protector too!

Reading the description of the video, if you kept up with it, that is a good way to save money, waiting with current phone then upgrading to an phone a couple of years behind. Personally I've never spent more than about £120 (approx 208 AUD in current rate) on phones, I don't make enough phone calls or texts to justify a monthly plan so I'm on a 'pay-as-you-go' plan (data off most of the time, keep it on wifi). I try and use phones until they break, or become unusable for whatever reason. My last couple of phones, it was the batteries barely holding charge and randomly shutting off. I believe phone upgrades due to failing batteries is pretty common these days, alongside smashed screens. For around the house though, I have a 10" Android tablet. Much better experience watching KZbin etc on that vs the phone, even with it's relatively large 5.5" screen.
