Happy New Year Oshin! Glad to see you sharing another let’s play. Lovin the Webbie reference “I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T, do you know what that means!” Also the Goths are all an interesting bunch, as I watched your let’s play, I can’t help but wonder whether there’s a generational curse between Mortimer and Alexander? Maybe Alexander looks up to his father too much and that triggers Mortimer because it’s literally like looking in the mirror and maybe...just maybe Mort hated himself as a kid because his father had similar expectations that he now battles with between him and Alex. That could also explain why despite Cassandra being the odd/black sheep, Mortimer has better compatibility because she’s not following the traditional way or teachings Alexander is trying so hard to achieve and is her own person, whereas Alexander is his actual shadow. Maybe Mortimer secretly wants Alexander to be less like him but doesn’t know how to tell him because he knows how much Alexander looks up to him. There’s gotta be a reason why Alexander has bad compatibility with Alexander if it isn’t generational. Also I have a feeling that Chivy may or may not play a much important role to Alexander in the future, as to the reason? She could be Alexander’s light that could cast him out of being his dad’s shadow. I’m sorry for rambling, I didn’t mean to go overboard, but I got excited for this new story and my mind started thinking a lot about the different theories. Whatever happens in the future of this story, I will be anticipating everything and cheering for everyone. Until then, stay Wavy ☺🌊

As a person who only plays rotational, I do think you should give yourself a week, not three days per family as it will give you the work week plus a weekend and I try to swap around 3am-5am Monday morning as thats basically joining the next family on there Monday morning. I personally feel like a week gives you a little more time to dig into story bits. Plus I am always a little sad to leave the other sims behind even if I am excited to play with the next set. A sim week gives me time to let go and embrace the family I am in. Also if time is too restrictive and you have aging off anyway until you want to age up your sims, you can also make your swap point ‘story goals’ like Cassandra getting to a certain relationship level with her crush, Mortimer getting to a certain skill level with Nectar making etc. And make that the goal to be fullfilled before swapping. I like time based rotational swaps, but its not the only way to play rotationally by any stretch. I have 144 sims I play, split into multiple family/household grouping arrangements. I forget Sims names all the time, but as soon as I rotate back to that home and that family its like slipping on a comfy pair of shoes and I am just in there lives now and for that week, they are the main characters and everything important to them is in focus. Also I laughed when you said you consider it bad karma to mess with the love between Bella and Mortimer. my Goth’s never have a good marriage. One or the other always ends up cheating (if not both). 😂😂 My Mortimer(s) have never lived down the Sims 2 version that was going after Dina Caliente in the absence of his wife.

That is such a smart way to think about rotational gameplay. I need to try that out with this save ,thank you for the tips! How do you play with that many sims and not forget their story or goals you have for them? I think I have to start keeping notes on each family 😂 I was thinking it might be hard focusing on one sims story , etc if I don’t have time to really play into their lives. I’ll try a week after the last rotation and begin this Round 2! (I’m turning aging on in Round 2 as well!) Lol your Goth’s had some TEA!!! I can’t even fathom having them cheat ☕️

I use to go really in depth but it started to make playing unfun so I basically have big overall goals which don't have to be reached in a 'round' and per-round goals. Like if I really wanted a Sim to build up the family restaurant I might give them their whole young adult life cycle. But if I want the teenager to make 5 good friends I might push myself to make that happen within a round. If I only end up with two out of five, that's fine, I tried for five. I also allow my Sims not to reach their goals because it's time based on that week and I like that not EVERY Sim hits goal, that's part of the fun of it for me in having so many Sims. Small families also help. I find too many Sims under the same roof makes it harder to not only remember names but give everyone proper attention. A big family in one house is rare for me anymore unless it really really feels right for that Sim. I also don't mind if for a round a few family members are on a bit of auto pilot while I really focus on one family member. Especially if I am trying to focus on kids/teens meeting for example so they are friends 'since childhood'. I'll sometimes just let the parents self-pilot for the most part to make sure that connection is locked in. I have custom long lifespan, but I will still have aging off for everyone most of the time, I want people to grow up and get older, but I like a game that lingers for a bit. A part of me thinks I should just make rotational videos, but I am nervous about starting. You're so good and while my Sims entertain me, not confident I have the storytelling skills to make them interesting to others. 😂

You could give them an au pair, basically a live in Nanny that cooks and cleans and helps out! The goths could go through the process of hiring someone and contracting an add on to house her. Could make things fuuuuun.

I love your take on the Goth family! Sadly I don't own Horse Ranch or I would steal the wine business idea immediately! I always struggle to play with this family, because the lore and the aesthetics feel so constraining somehow. Bella being a secret agent in the Sims 4 also doesn't make sense to me. What worked for me is a) making Bella a stylist instead and most importantly b) playing through the "Aliens stole my parents" scenario with the Goth family. It is the only time I have ever played with any of the scenarios, but it both brought some mystery back into the family lore and had me focus on Cassandra trying to raise her little brother which made me fall in love with both of the siblings. Alexander will become a scientist when he grows up to find out everything he can about the time his parents were abducted. By the way: Mortimer and Alex didn't help cooking because there was no empty kitchen counter space for them to do so.

Just wanted to add that my brother came to me when that whole drama-llama happen with you-know-who and Harry Potter (I had to, don’t hate me 😂) and he told me some really good advice - When stuff like that happens, you can still love the media you grew up reading or a fandom you LOVE. You just have to separate the creator/author/drama-llama from the media. Most people who love Harry Potter love it for more than the books. Open the shader and toggle off (uncheck) the depth of field (dof or adof) if it’s blurry . Play around with the different effects and toggle the ones you don’t want off. 🥰🥳

As someone who is part of the goth subculture for decades I can tell you don't have much experience with such. Now before I comment some context. To be a 'goth' as part of the subculture you only need to like goth music. Everything else was tacked on later, absorbed and optional. In this and many other context what we are talking about is the 'goth aesthetic'. Which is its own thing. You can like, be a fan of the goth look but not be actual goth technically. Again the music is the root of the subculture. Best way describe it is if I like dressing up as a cowboy but don't like country music I like the country aesthetic but not actually part of the country music subculture/fandom. Same difference here when it comes to being goth/goth music. That said, focusing on just the goth aesthetic the Goth family is traditionally a Victorian goth aesthetic. (there are about 20ish clothing styles under the goth umbrella). One I suppose could make the argument they are romantic goth by default but the nuances between the 2 styles can get blurry so I am just going with Victorian. That said, Victorian goth is all about the styles and aesthetic of the turn of the 19/20th century thus IS all about being "fancy" as you put it. If you personally don't like it then you are of course entitled to that, but the fact most of the houses were 'fancy' hints toward the style. Seems like you reduced them to more cardboard cutout generic style than their default style (no self respecting goth would wear beige pants). There is a style called corporate goth and that is what the husband, wife I feel would normally wear. what I wear IRL day to day actually. But in the end it's about fun so you do what you want, but I just wanted to point out you not liking their style mostly removes them from the goth aesthetic and their namesake. Aside from some of the house on a superficial level they really aren't 'goth' much anymore at least aesthetically. I came upon you for the inzoi vids which I found very useful and interesting. Looking to pick it up when it drops. I just happened to see a 'goth family' video so decided to check it out. Hope to see more inzoi content from you soon, keep up the good work!

I asked you this in another video before, why can't you play with modern builds or rich people or mansions or anything? Why are they always happy sweet families with no problems? And the problems do have are so minor or inconsequential. That part isn't that big of a deal but why would you take money away from people? Especially townies when that's their history.. It's also what makes them iconic especially the goths and the landgrabs. You don't have goths or landgrabs without money in a big house.. generational wealth.. I don't know it's no big deal. I was always so curious as to why you only want families to basically live in a double-wide trailer with everything brown and blue and maybe some green with decor from the '90s with moth balls I'm not hating on your style I find it very endearing and I love to watch it even though I would never put it in my game It's cozy feeling just cuz brown is more of a warm color I guess so I enjoy looking at it. But... Do you ever try anything new? Do you ever inject any actual drama into your families like having affairs and secret babies or secretly killing your husband or something, anything?
