Osi Sobeck's Death Alternate Scenes

This is the two alternate scenes of Osi Sobeck's death. I like the finished scene, but the alternate scenes are definitely interesting.

I prefer the finished version, but I still feel that Anakin should've Osi Sobeck.

TBH, Ahsoka doing it makes a lot more sense. 1) Osi just getting executed is standard issue 'you have failed me'. 2) Tarkin doing it that way and then not being addressed just makes it seem like the Jedi are ignoring an actual war crime (and not the made up stuff that Sith fanboys usually bandy about in videos) and ignoring a giant warning flag. 3) Ahsoka doing it to save Tarkin has a lot of dramatic irony for what comes later, shows that Anakin has taught her to be pretty ruthless but not in a way that should be a giant warning flag. So, I think the final product works because it avoids the typical 'you have failed me', makes sense as something the Jedi just shrug off as the course of war (which it is), and gives us a little nod to how Anakin's more ruthless nature even before he goes full Vader is visible to outsiders like Tarkin.

The jedi had no problem to burn alive geonosians and spread the republican domination to systems that only wants to secede. Also we have to notice that tarkin is actually protected by palpatine.

I prefer the one we got. It’s more climactic and tense than the other versions. We see how obsessive Sobek is throughout the arc and he knows the penalty for failure so it makes sense he’d be a sore loser and go kamikaze as opposed to pleading for mercy. It’s also the first time we see Ahsoka kill a living being to my knowledge so it serves as growth for her.

I think having Tarkin kill him could've been better. It would've added on to his ruthlessness seen in Rebels, Rogue One, and A New Hope

I agree it just shows how much of a monster he can become, I'm glad that he met his end on the death Star when it first blew up, I bet you he realize that his pride got in the way of winning he was overconfident that the empire would win against the rebellion.

I respectfully disagree. A captain killing an unarmed and surrendering opponent, in front of two generals, is stupidity of the highest order and would get him arrested on Obi-Wan's and Anakin's authority as generals, and court-martialed.

The reason they didn’t go for that ending is because they found it unlikely that the Jedi would allow Tarkin to execute and kill a surrendering foe without doing anything, while Ahsoka’s rescue was a bit more like how Anakin has rescued people in the past and shows her evolution as growing more like him

@@Zombotron5678 it would’ve worked, considering the Jedi were already caught up fighting off droids. This Guy dying begging for his life in vain in the spite of his cowardly acts would’ve done his character justice. The final scene is fine though.

I don’t know I think I’m the only one that liked Dooku killing him the best. The scene itself isn’t so great but this entire arc basically set up Dooku to dish out some discipline on Sobeck. I think it could’ve been done better though, maybe Sobeck almost being suicidal in his attack against Kenobi, just for him to be incapacitated and watch as they fly away. Then a lone commando droid would walk up with a hologram disc in his hand…

Firstly, we must understand that Tarkin was an important person and captain at that time, and not the devil from the mountain. Therefore, if you hadn't saved him in Ahsoka's place, then you would have committed a war crime. And considering that you were standing next to him, no one would justify you. I'm sure even Anakin wouldn't. And secondly, at that time, how could they have known that Tarkin would destroy Alderaan? In this scene, he is still the captain of the Republic, who faithfully serves the Republic, and not a mass murderer.

I hate how they turned Tarkin into a one-note villain by the end of Season 5 and the Bad Batch. It feels so shallow. In the Citadel Arc, he was so much more fleshed-out in the fact that he did approve of Jedi with more military leanings.

I think a bit of bacta tanking will heal him, since nobodies every really gone, and according to star wars, as long as it's not the brain getting destroyed, it's fine, even if it's everything around the brain As a star wars fan who has no standards, i wish they would connect this merced droid with the trench coat droid in SW Outlaws so that i can consume more nostalgia bait 😋

1:39 Honestly i wish we got this scene instead People said that the one we got shows Tarkins callousness since he prosecutes Ahsoka even though she rescues him, but here i think would have shown more of why Ahsokas suspiscioun of him being a prosecutor would have been justified! She witnesses An Admiral shoot down a Surrendering enemy, possibly knew she couldn't day anything as the republic would cover for him, and honestly this shows more of Tarkins ruthlessness early The first one i think was also preferable since i dont think we've seen Dooku directly order the assasination of one of his allies (and i dont count Ventress or the Zygerrian queen as they were both just left to die)
