I am Congolese refugee since 1996,when I left my motherland Congo,that is the day I started my life struggling as refugee,it is more than 25 years up to now,We entered in Rwanda by force because of those groups of Hutu whom where coming in Zaïre leaving their country(Rwanda)after doing genocide of Tutsi, and as we are in the same RACE but living in different country(Congo/Zaîre) they wanted to kill us all,and we couldn't resist in front of those armed people. Then the only chance of surviving was to cross the border and went in Rwanda and others countries neighbouring DRC,the whole tribute of Tutsi living in Eastern Congo have been moved and the resisted have been slaughtered like animals,women rapped,men killed, I was 8 years old we footed from Masisi to Rwanda,we reached there in 1997,at that time when arriving in Rwanda, we have been sheltered in Mudende Camp,unufornetly we didn't have chance of surviving at all,because of those Interahamwe at MUGUNGA Camp who crossed the border coming back to Rwanda usually in night and slaughtering many of us. Then at that worse moment Rwandan government led by FPR shifted the camp to Gihembe refugee camp which was established in December 1997 to host survivors of the Mudende Massacre. Mudende was a refugee camp in western Rwanda hosting Congolese refugees from eastern DRC. As said in upper paragraphs it was in August and again in December of 1997,where armed groups from DRC crossed the border and attacked the camp - murdering hundreds of Tutsi refugees. Today, 99% of the refugees in Gihembe are Mudende massacre survivors,by now this camp has been relocated in Mahama refugee camp in Eastern Rwanda after 25 years. Of the three traditional durable solutions, resettlement remains the most viable for the majority of refugees in Gihembe. In 2012 after 15 years in camps, the U.S. Government partnered with UNHCR Rwanda to resettle the survivors to the U.S. through a group identification methodology, the Priority 2 (P2) group processing modality, to expedite the process as the insecurity caused by Interahamwe was still Ongoing."Till now in 2022."The first P2 group aimed at resettling 10,000 survivors was successfully completed two years ahead of time. On behalf of Congolese refugee,I thank U.S.A government for this action Aid to those victims of the genocide made in Rwanda in 1994,and they are still helping them.And from the bottom of the heart we thank Rwandan government and other countries in Eastern Africa which hosting congoleses refugees,to ensure their security. UN ACCUSATIONS to Rwanda: Why Rwanda is accused by UN to support M23 with no proof,senate Menendez also says that Rwanda is making insurgency in the region. But look around,Rwanda has hosted more than 125 thousands congolese refugees for more than 25 years till now!!! Those M23 rebellions are fighting for the right of Tutsis in Eastern Congo whom are always murdered day by day since the incoming of X-FAR in DRC,the M23 has born after RCD and CNDP rebellions,the country(DRC) which letting it's people to the exile in the camps for their life time,and another country(Rwanda) is hosting them without any complaint,without even ask any cost the country of origin,so we wonder why RDC has never thought for their refugees?and now it's the FARDC with FDLR who are killing the remained Tutsis in Eastern Congo,why UN is making those unpure reports and doesn't put any pressure to DRC? You can make a research in a very congolese refugee camp asking their miserable life since the exile of 1996 caused by Interahamwe Terrorist.
