Many people dont understand the techniques and the way I extend fulcrums, and are very "realistic situational" focussed in their approach to uchikomi drills. They dont get my style at all. (Sometimes they are #### in their comments.) I have met Russian judoka who NEVER drilled uchikomi. Their drills are very spontaneous off actual applications from Randori, not very repetitive, and require thought process to engage application of their throws, by powering you and pressure grip you to their familiar stance to apply their throw. They simply dont understand mushin, (mind/body) or in more scientific words muscle memory, and the science of applying that training to favourite moves. They are hyper-critical, but you have to say "where are their results?" They do have great Olympians. Their methods also work. This style I coach is mainly Japanese style Judo.

@@JudoLife we need more people like you, my sensei was traditional to the point we even were taught atemi waza! Technique is technique! What if that guy doesn't drill uchikomi? Ive seen them and their technique is amazing nevertheless! Judo has been watered down by competition, they banned like 20 takedowns like kuchiki taoshi, morotr gari and so on! We need more traditional judo, more realistic applications and less competition oriented gyms! We need dojos back! 💪🏻🙂

Kungfu/aikido guys talk about techniques too deadly for mma or too deadly to train (?) When I say that the most deadly techniques are safely taught to children people laugh. Osotogari on concrete can blow somebody's brains and be fatal . Any given shime waza can absolutley be fatal, almost by definition really. Absolutely safe to train and people do it every day including children.
@JudoLife
@JudoLife Жыл бұрын
Absolutely 100% on the issue. Karate I did you hit relatively hard in places it doesn’t hurt to train for extreme self defence. Usually you don’t want to hurt most people that do attack you anyway because they are just stupid not evil. Judo can very easily moderate the level of intensity of throwing once you get used to stretchy clothing
