By many male standards I do not dress right. At 181 cm/5ft11 and 205 lbs/98kgs I do not wear shorts and T-shirts or flip flops. Button up shirts or polos and Chinos or jeans so it is difficult to pack light.

I've always travelled with the bare minimum and in particular with SE Asia the weather is warmer so no need for winter clothing.@@danielpearson4972

Finally an excellent video on packing. We have a similar packing agenda. I have travelled to 130 countries over 35 years. I use a 25L Thom Bihn, and an 8 L sling bag. I would suggest bringing a compact umbrella. I also cut off the waist straps. Light, compact travel is the only way to go. Safer, cheaper, more efficient. Its amazing watching packing advice videos that have two bags with nearly 100L, crazy!!

I'm tempted by the Fairview the women's version of the far point but I think 40 would be too big for me. I'd love to see it in a 30 or 28

This is really helpful, thanks. It's a drag how tight security is about toothpaste and whatnot. Air travel is so bad for the earth already but then we have to buy a bunch of crap when we get there then throw it away anyway because we can't bring it home. I try to just use other people's stuff when I can, and share what I have, because it just makes me sick

Hi Vicki, thanks for watching, the Osprey 30 can hold a lot more than I put in it, i would say double the amount of clothes. Yep there's lots of little pockets which are very handy.

Note you can add a Osprey Daylite that will clip onto the Porter for added space and can be detached and placed under the seat as a personal item and as a day pack.

When my bag is packed it weighs 7kgs, this includes, laptop, power leads and clothes etc. I travel very light and have never required any more clothes than what I pack.

I'm not sure of the brand of the bag, I purchased this at a market in Thailand and it was in a box with hundreds of other bags. The style is a sling bag. Cheers.

in laptop compartment there is zipper there, will it scratch the laptop?

Hi Denny, yea there is a zipper where the Laptop goes and I've had no issue with the scratching my Mac👍

Hi Don, the bag when full could sit upright however it's like a typical backpack that doesn't stand up all that great, it's my favourite bag of all time for traveling light.

So I'm guessing you pick up deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, razor, etc. at the destination then toss it? If you move around much that throw away cost starts to add up. Also, no backup pair of shoes for when the ones you are wearing get wet and muddy? No sandals or shower shoes?

Yep, that's the way to do with tolietary items as these are very cheap in Asia. With shoes, thongs and sandals I take a pair of shoes then by some thongs for the journey/time I'm in Thailand or where ever, these are also cheap to buy.
