I've been in a tornado before my dad and my brother and I were driving home and all of the sudden a tornado touchdown in a field next to us my dad got me and my brother to lay down in the back seat and we could feel he debris hitting out car and rocking it while we were driving and part of an old crumbling tree hit the top of our car . I remember crying saying I don't want to die the day before my birthday. But my dad's military instincts kicked in and he drove us through a field and drove to the sheriff's office and we took Shelter there . So that my nature disaster story .Thanks fort reading 😋

I live in Louisiana and in a hurricane we can get multiple tornados, the safest thing to do if you are outside is to jump in a ditch and lay with your feet crossed, face facing the ground and hands behind your head. Its the safest place unless you can find shelter very quickly in a nearby home.

As someone who has always lived where tornadoes are frequent (we call them 'tornado alleys'), I've had to run to my former neighbor's storm shelter more than once due to them. Most people around me are used to them, but since I live in a flimsy single-wide trailer, I'll be done for if I'm not prepared and happen to be unlucky, so I guess I am scared of them. Especially since I no longer live by someone with a storm shelter. Just last year, my sister had a tree fall on her house, due to straight-lined winds on one tornado-infested day, right above where she was sleeping. The roof didn't fully collapse, so she was okay. They ended up using a tarp to block out the rain from the hole it left, but, between the mushrooms growing in the bathroom, the heater malfunctioning, and the stove dying, all they can do is save up for a new place. They can't fix the roof or anything else in the meantime, and they refuse to stay with me because they don't want to inconvenience my housemate. It's a bad situation.

It makes me sad that when people watch older films and they see some type of special effects immediately they think “CG”. Before computers were a thing if you wanted special effects you had to use various methods of: blue and green screen, Stop motion creatures, Costumes, Makeup and prostechiscs, Camera effects, among various other techniques. The effects used for The Birds was a mix of real birds, animatronics, and fakes and Ub Iwerks who had worked with Disney for a long time received an Academy Award for his work on the film!
