Modern zombies for the most part are usually blind, so they rely on their other senses to find their food. It's an easy way to give viewers anxiety in a situation where characters have to be quiet and eventually fail and get eaten

Le Horde from France is really good, Dead Snow from Norway is fun and campy and It Stains The Sands Red from USA is good suspense. Le Horde is one of my favourite zombie movies, really underrated but definitely worth watching.

What's funny is the Night of the Living Dead set up soo many of the zombie rules.. but the zombies were much smarter back then. When trying to get into the car, they tried the door handles, and then resorted to picking up a brick to smash the window.

The Last Man on Earth kinda started it all I think (great movie that was then copied by Omega Man and I Am Legend). It was 4 years prior. Romero really put it all together though. It's outrageous to not include Night of the Living Dead or Dawn of the Dead in this video.

The fact that 28 Days/Weeks Later has a realistic virus is what makes it so frightening. A rage virus that is transmitted not just through bites but also blood transmission, so compared to the standard zombie films you wouldn't even be able to defend yourself due to the risk of blood splatter into your mouth, nose or eyes. Then you have the fact that the rage virus causes the infected to have a constant hit of adrenaline that would make it impossible for anyone to outrun them. The film also is realistic in the sense that Britain would be cut off from the world, and the virus would be easy to contain if the outbreak occured on an island. This and the fact that they starve to death at the same rate as a normal human is what the positives would be.

I like T2B, but it works more as a drama than a horror film. To not mention, that some parts like the group moving up trough the wagons, figthing the zombies with their fists, i found them pretty dumb. Overall a good movie, but i enjoyed Rec, and 28 days later more.
