Thank you sir. I am having my AC joint reworked in a few weeks. Just a note, the AC joint can also have these problems in middle aged people with hypermobility and can also sometimes occur in individuals with spondyloarthropathies as they age and the arthropathy starts migrating to the larger joints. I have both these issues.

Was your distal clavicle removed arthroscopically ??? My neighbor electrician a lot of overhead work extending pulling had an open surgery right A/C joint 15 years ago Left A/C joint arthroscopically 2 years ago maybe the fact of being older he stated open procedure seemed like a faster recovery less pain

Arthroscopically at age 56@@MrJEEPJT The AC joint was in "advanced degenerative stages" I was in sharp pain on top of my shoulder. ...always a 1 or 2 out of 10, up to 4. The pain has been a 0. Very grateful. At the same time, I also had dull pain inside the shoulder. Requiring a biceps tenodesis (due to a complete desinsertion of the biceps anchor), subacromial bone shaving, and an ulnar nerve transposition at the elbow due to cubital tunnel syndrome. These surgeries were step one, prior to getting an artificial shoulder a year later. Needed due to grade 3 to 4 chondromalacia of glenohumeral/main shoulder joint. I played a lot of American football growing up. All good now :)

Hmm..I replied to you, but don't see it@@MrJEEPJT Regardless, arthroscopically, along with 3 other procedures at the same time. Ultimately prepping for a shoulder replacement a year later. Cheers.

@@MrJEEPJT Arthroscopic surgery will always have faster recovery times. Open surgery requires dissection of overlying structures to get at the joint, which leads to longer healing times.

Excellent presentation !!!! Would it be much wiser for athletes and people the regularly exercise to substitute push-ups properly done as a safer alternative to long term shoulder health ??
