WoW! Basically is Nuff said! This was an awesome tip man! I just finished the cutting method & didn't like what I saw so, I came back to youtube & saw your video! Fortunately, I just purchased the rapid fires with the 1 blade in it so switching was simple! My fast feeds are right where I need them to be now! Thanks to you! I am in Barber school right now & this is something that I can pass on to other students! Thanks again man! Floyd

Thanks, David. I've been wanting to modify my fast feeds for a closer cut, but I didn't want chop or file my new clippers like some of these guys do. this is the ticket!

I did the method of cutting the metal piece to slide the cutting blade higher, but what you did was straight genius! When my fine tooth gives out i will mos def get my detachable

Thanks Dave, this simple to do. Since I've done it I noticed that it's cutting much smoother. I can now remove lines out of my fades. Good work. Thanks.

Great tip, thank you much! Another tip for those who use Andis clippers is swapping the 22 tooth bottom cutting blade from an Andis Master with the 28 tooth cutting blade of a Fade Master. This is an awesome combination. Peace!
@plugo53110 жыл бұрын
Properly zero gapped with that cutting does it still bit your magnetic guards?
@shield40010 жыл бұрын
Pete Lugo Yes it still bites the guard but it's very little. I usually don't close the blade all the way when using the magnetic guards. If you want a guard that fits perfect and doesn't get chewed check out Vaucrollc.com These are universal metal guards that work perfect on zero gapped clippers.

Thank you for watching, I appreciate your wise words. The magnetic guards actually work much better when the blade is set this way. You will notice a much closer cut and the guards won't get damaged at all. Stay tuned , more videos are coming very soon.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge broski, I have one question, will replacing the cutting blade to a #1 76er will it affect the tapering lever since the teeth are longer? Will I still have a lot of open n close taper lever action like originally or will it be limited due to the longer teeth on the blade?

Good vid. The lever manipulation method is efficient also. structure damage won't result as the half inch space was put there for the purpose of adjusting the gap space.

I just bought the clipper and started to do the "jam" zero gapping method. Since I don't wanna potentially damage my brand new clipp I checked and found your vid. I don't have an existing oster no.1 guard since this is my first oster, plus those detachable blades are expensive as we all know. I have an andis 000 ceramic, an andis no.2 and andis outliner blade - all detachables for my andis bgr. Would any of these work is there another method or do I need to go BUY the oster no.1 detachable just so I can take it apart and use this method? Lmk thank you

so i did this to my sped lines and i used it today on a kiddo was using the # 2 andis magnetic guard and the clipper snaged on the hair and wouldn't cut so i had to use a senior from a coworker i got home and had a manikin head i use to use in school and ran the cliper on it to see if maybe it snaged cuz of the guards so i didnt use any jus the blade all the way closed and again it snaged on the hair and wouldnt cut then i placed a guard on it and it rattled so i looked at it closer and the # 1 blade was pushing out of the clipper like when i placed it i noticed that the #1 blade was abit wider that the standard gold blade so then i put the standard blade back on my cliper and it cut jus fine with and without guards without rattling i did notice that when i had the #1 blade it was able to cut allready short hair alot closer that the standard blade but ones i had to remove bolk it snags every time unless i open the blade a bit then it seems to cut fine but if i have to open it to cut kinda defeats the purpose of having it zero gapped if it snages when its at zero

So, basically the Speed line, Fast Feed, and Topaz are all the same Clipper? I've seen some Topaz clippers that claim they are 00000 - 1, others say 000-1... I really like the look of the Topaz, but I think I'm gonna start out with the Speed line, b/c I found them online cheaper.

Yeah, they open to a 1 like the Andis master and they give a nice smooth cut. In my opinion they cut faster than the Masters.
