So lemme get this straight...this movie not only bombed in the box office, but the PR stunt with David also killed the Slamboree PPV? man, WCW were efficient in burning money.
@joebagano473010 жыл бұрын
I think in this case burning money is far less of a problem than burning your own fanbase and basically begging them to either go over to Vince or just stop watching altogether. Both the movie and the Arquette stunt are saying "Our product is a joke and you are stupid piece of shit for ever having enjoyed it!" That's just... baffling, to be honest. I'm not a marketing genius or anything, but it should be common sense to avoid actively alienating your customer base.

In her storyline with Alexa Bliss Bayley was portrayed much like the wrestling fans in this film and for some reason during said storyline WWE portrayed her watching wrestling when she was younger as a bad thing. What sense does a wrestling show portraying watching wrestling as a bad thing make? That was also the feud where her character was portrayed as a womanchild who didn't want to hurt people despite being a wrestler where the entire point is hurting people. "I don't want to put bruises on people's backs. I want to put smiles on their faces" my ass.

Rose McGowan and Arquette from Scream obviously, McGowan later on doing great in Planet Terror amongst other things, Joey Pantoliano from The Matrix, Memento, Bad Boys, Oliver Platt had a decent role in X-Men First Class amongst other films, Scott Caan, son of Jimmy from The Godfather, also had a decent role in Enemy of the State. Amazing they were all attracted to feature in this shit. (Which either means they were paid a lot or they really value their friendship with Arquette, the only true wrestling fan.)
