And from what I've read, Takeshi Koike, the character designer for that series, would later replace Yamamoto as the director for the films that follow after it. But there's also a question I wanted to ask, how does both Lupin Zero and Episode 0: First Contact fit into all this?

Different continuities, I imagine. But they’re both versions of origin stories.
