I'm saddened that the Apocrypha anime cut out a really great conversation between her and Vlad about Catholicisim and why she has no regrets from life. Although the second half is fictional, the first half is vary non-fictional with both the well researched details and the focus on Jeanne's story, rather then just the history of her life alone. Kinda late, but hey. The meme's about the most infamous French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen, an old xenophobic dude who was kicked out of his own party (far right) by his own daughter because he just couldn't help making racist comments all the time. And at a commemorative event to Jeanne d'Arc, Le Pen looked up to Jeanne's statue in Paris and randomly shouted "Jeaaaanne, Help us!". Which immediately ignited the creativity of thousands of french memester, and that meme's still going strong 3 years later. (Then again, Le Pen is a meme goldmine) Symbolicaly, Jeanne represent the one who drove out the invaders and reclaimed France, and Le Pen has been consistently talking about how France is getting invaded by migrants, so you probably get the idea of why he did that.

Jeanne d' Arc was a political figure I found myself fascinated by all thanks to a certain PSP strategy RPG( still pissed off that I can't emulate it because emulation for that game is a pain in the ass) so I was really surprised to find out that she would be a servant in the Fate universe. After that she became one of my favorites in the series and while she does indeed have a saber face, Jeanne is still a lovable character all the same.

I just read up on Jeanne D'Arc, After watching most of Apocrypha and DAMN her fate was DARK. Her real life fate and all of the aftermath. I had no knowledge of any of it except her death and what she symbolizes for France. I was filled with anger when I saw her death as a heretic, burning to death. I didn't even know why, but I was angered by the death of a fictional Version of a historical Figure I don't even had knowledge about.
