My interpretation is that when Wrath clapped the first time, that was when everyone fell into her trance. You can see subaru physically react and then change tone after the first clap

@@bornofosiris288 I interpreted it differently. The way I saw it Subaru was already under sirius' influence when she first appeared. My reason for that is that right before sirius clapped her hands, Subaru basically said that "if this is a joke it's isn't a good one", which Subaru would never say when confronted with an Archbishop, or someone who claims to be one and the only reason he said that was cuz the people around him were thinking this was a joke. That clap I think was just to signify how strong sirius' authority is.

My take on the reset point was a little different. If anything, it would have been a relief to go back further and let Subaru redo some of those encounters, as well as make use of the info dumps he got throughout the episode, but instead, we're taken back to almost immediately before things went very bad. He was just sent to go get snacks, and has a looming confrontation with the Sin Archbishop of Wrath in like, barely ten minutes. It's a really dangerous situation. From here, things are immediately going to hit the fan for Subaru. He's got a pretty serious battle and hostage situation looming barely ten minutes out from start, and that's not to mention everything else that is almost certainly going to go down immediately afterwards. He has (re)zero time to pull himself together after his last death and jump into action. It's gonna be an absolute mess, and i'm super hyped.

Priscilla reminds me of a female Gilgamesh with how she acts and behaves and some of her words. My theory about Reinhard is that Wilhelm believed that Reinhard was the cause of his wife's death because of Reinhard's extraordinary power, that he stole his grandmother's powers and caused her to lose against the Whale. Kind of like what happened to Ichigo's mother in Bleach.

My first thought was the same as yours, that Emelia wouldn't recognize Corneas because of the memory loss, but didn't she see him in the trials? You'd think something so traumatic from only a year ago would stick with her. I've seen several comment that in the LN he's described as wearing a hooded cloak to make it harder to recognize him so it feels a little annoying to me that in the anime they give him an identical appearance to the times we've seen him.

My Reaction during the episode: Start: Calm, good to see some old friends, even if the design of some look a bit odd i guess we need to get used to them Start to middle: Still all good and fun, great slice of life Suddenly Regulus appears: 100% Panic mode, full desperation Middle: Still calm but now a bit anxious Middle to end: The show is going so well, it doesn't even look like rezero style End: Ok, this IS Re:Zero, we are Back! I'm still a bit partial about the censorship and the new designs of the characters, but i guess it's not as bad, more a matter of getting used to it, the translators could at least have kept the "Lolimancer" tho...

Massive hint about Garfs mother is the naming of the children IMO Garfiel(Rafiel) and Frederica(Fred) she also wears a blue pendent necklace as you can see in the full body shot of her. So if I was a betting man I'd say she lost her memories In one way or another but I don't think it was gluttony as the memories still seem to be there but just out of reach. Could also be that she doesn't recognize who Garf is because he was only a baby when she left so he would look super different. Knowing Re:zero its going to be Sad AF one way or another.
