Hauls are getting negative feedback these days because of the raised awareness on the impact of consumerism and fast fashion. I’m not sure if she knows that but continues to do them for the sake of keeping the ad deals. However, I DO know she’s an intelligent person so I’m sure it’s on her mind. I just wish she’d act on it the way she does with makeup. She prefers makeup brands that are safe and cruelty-free as much as possible. I understand that Jess’ channel has been known for her style videos, but that doesn’t mean there are no other ways for her to keep with that branding without improving her own consumer behavior. I agree with most commenters here wishing we could see other videos from her. She could do a thrift haul or a closet purge, to at least balance out all the brand new clothes she buys...extremely often, and we know how many clothes she already has. There are so many other video formats other than hauls. Alternatively, she might already be doing closet purges or thrift shopping frequently, she just doesn’t film them. I hope she says something about this though because if she really plans on making YT a full-time thing for a few years, she needs to be smart about her content. She doesn’t deserve any hate.

Leah Gaynor Right. I remember the hate she got for an old Christmas gift haul. It got so bad that she stopped doing them for a while, or ever. I don’t want that to happen to her other videos because we all know she likes doing YT. Nobody would want to ruin YT for her, but it might happen.

You have SO much stuff, it seems almost too much - can you talk about why you keep buying things that are so similar to your collection? Like the doc marten shoes, why buy another pair when you already have some that are essentially identical??? GoToHellHermen I guess when she is done with the shoes she can sell them cheap or put them in a clothing bin for those that are struggling in society to have. The best form of charity though would be to show these people how to get a job, get smart with money and realise that you cant make the poor wealthy by making the wealthy poor. You cant build wealth by dividing it. I say this because 99% of these do-good greeny types that are brainwashed left by our education system are the same ones making pathetic comments like yours. No one with any brains intentionally pollutes or wastes resources. People all have hobbies and likes and jobs in certain fields, if hers is beauty, shoes and clothing then she can buy as many shoes as she likes. People can think for themselves, do you really think everyone (that can afford it ) is going to go and by 50 pairs of Doc Martins after seeing a you tube clip?

Why are we running out of resources? Not because of brains. Its because of consumerism, greed, power and not acknowledging the fact that your actions as an individual actions have consequences. Every single thing we buy takes energy. Almost every single thing we buy ends up in landfill for years and years. Think about that next time you see her closet, or next time you see her buy another thing for her go pro because she forgot to bring the other one she already has at home! The fact that you think its ok to call buying shoes a hobby is a huge problem. Its vapid, wasteful and selfish. She is normalising her behaviour and in fact encouraging it. She doesnt need anything she is buying. It is impossible to live a life that has no negative impact on the Earth. But to me Jess' lifestyle is blatantly irresponsible and selfish. To be clear, I am acknowledging it is not only Jess living this way but a worldwide problem.

Hey jess you have such cool style and a lot of the styles of pieces you’ve shown here could 100% be obtained through thrifting (especially through depop etc) and I reckon it could be cool for you to find pieces you like at stores you usually shop at (stories, ASOS etc) and instead of buying them you could try finding secondhand alternatives to promote sustainable fashion! I haven’t seen this sort of video being done and I reckon you could do it well!

We live in a world with too much material stuff and the stores and all the company's just spewing out more and more and more and more and more. All of these hauls on KZbin gives me anxiety. Jessie, some tough love: i think you need to get some real consistency in your channel like uploading once a week every friday or something. you don't have the excuse of being a student anymore. this is your job. there will always be busy times but you shouldn't just not upload for weeks if you consider this your full-time job. there's no magic formula or time when you won't be busy you just do it, you prioritize it, and it becomes second nature. like you did with exercise. and then you'll stop feeling guilty about not uploading and i think you'll likely find your whole relationship with youtube will be less angsty.

I have to agree. We're in the minority but to me it looks like she took a Cheeto (or a color exactly the same as the powder that stick to your fingers when you eat them) to her eyes. I don't understand why people need/want a tutorial for this because it seems very easy to do. Brown or brown(s) on the lid and under the eye and orange everywhere else.

Right? I was so confused about that after her speech about buying it because she likes some things that aren't too revealing. Maybe it's just me, but seeing a bit of shoulder, neck, and cleavage is a lot less revealing than fully seeing your bra and underwear line. And if you don't wear either of those you're *really* going to be revealing yourself for the whole world to see.

i get the comments about fast fashion but you have to realize that some ppl aren’t aware of these things. i didn’t understand fast fashion and its impact until probably about a WEEK ago, and still haven’t fully grasped the concept of why it’s terrible or how i can contribute to sustainability, which i’m slowly trying to implement into my own life. i’m even just finding out about how awful we’ve been treating the earth. jess is neither ignorant nor uneducated (yes some of the comments have said that), so i don’t think it’s fair to accuse her of ignoring the situation or call her out about something she may have NO IDEA about. how about trying to inform her instead of immediately calling her a terrible person and threatening to unsubscribe.
