Absolutely!!! I am a huge music fan of all styles and genres. I have had quite a few people ask me who is your favorite singer and song writer ever. And when I tell them Otis Redding, they look at me like I'm crazy. Only because I have long hair and I wear a lot of black clothing people automatically assume I am only a metal fan. But I am so much more than that! His music just resonates with my heart and soul!

Man, my heart was POUNDING just watching this performance. The energy was explosive and absolutely INSANE. I always describe Otis as a bull of a man in a suit who had the energy of a supernova, but then can get down in his knees and plead for love and mercy and make you weep. You just DO NOT see this type of artist anymore. It’s an American music tragedy of extinction. The only luck we have is that we can see and hear this man via video and music media, but can you imagine having been there dancing with him???

I loved Otis Redding... I went to see him the night he never made it to his own concert in Madison, Wisconsin back in the 1960's... Long live Otis Redding's "Sitting on the Dock of Bay!" I miss his music & talent... Velva from Santa Fe, N. Mexico 7-3-16

Also he wrote alot of what he sang. If his family still owns his catalogue, they are set for life. He wrote Respect and in future years his songs were featured in Cousins and Dirty Dancing, Heaven Help Us/Catholic Boys. He also did a cover version of Shake by Sam Cooke (RIP) and Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones.

I've said this many of times over the years, the instrumental version of 'I can't turn you loose' was used in the police car chase scene, in the shopping mall, in the Blues Brother's movie.

The BBC documentary about Otis Redding is available on KZbin. After some 30 years, I got some feedback about this performance. Apparently, during reversals, the dancers danced to a slower beat. But it was a lot faster on the day, you can see the dancers laughing. The audience were also mainly mods.
