I read that one member of the Bar-Kays survived. It would have been nice for you to mention that and perhaps provide an update such as if the dude's still alive or a link to his account of the accident or whatever.

I think it was a mix of the weather and a lack of technology at the time.

i'm australian. i lived in madison for quite a while and went to that terrace building several times. unfortunately i didn't know at the time about the plane crash there. but i know my father in law lost a good truck on the ice there one winter. as many people have.👍

The tail of the plane, which had Otis Redding lettering on the side, is displayed at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
