I got busted by a hotel employee when I filmed these a month before you did. This was the second of three hotels I stayed in when I went to Vegas. I stayed in the West Tower.

@@DieselDucy ikkkkkkkkkkk :(. It definitely sucks. I hate the smart key card system. At the very least, at least I got to ride these. I have a better video of the West Tower elevators with a MUCH better ride. My room was only 4 floors away from the top in that tower.

😢! That sucks! I didn’t expect that to happen, but I’m glad you at least have a key! It would still be fun to ride these elevators though! All I have to do is to just go with guests and get at least a floor close to the top!

Boy I am so lucky I came there in 2017 before all the shootings and bad things happened in Vegas. When I went here I didn't bother with the tower elevators as I was only focused on the Pyramid elevators

I don't know if it had anything to do with the mass shooting or not, but as far as I know many of the casino hotels locked off their elevators after the beginning of the pandemic. Before the pandemic, I think most hotels still had unlocked elevators in 2019 and likely early 2020.

All mgm properties are smart keycard now

@@DieselDucy Unless it has changed, I thought the elevators at the Cosmopolitan were still mostly unlocked (at least during the day), and NYNY may or may not be. But I think most if not all other MGM owned hotel properties (including those that don't have MGM in the name such as the Luxor) either have locked off elevators, or a few of them have security guards checking for room keys, though I don't know if they also added smart-card readers as an additional layer of security or if guests can still access any floor.

@@DieselDucy Yeah the only way to ride guest elevators in hotels that are key-carded is to tailgate someone. I do that a lot of times at apartment and residential buildings.
