Fully agree with your most important advice ! I'm excited like a bee when I try something in a friendly game, jumping and cursing when I fail, boasting like a peacock when I succeed, and loughing out loud in both cases. Because friendly games are made for this, having fun and trying out new things ! Tournaments are made for winning matches. My current favourite experiment? The very short cross court return to the fence. When it works, it's almost always a winner. Rarely works though. But some weeks ago, it never worked ...... very nice video! im struggling with my game on the court and this video really hitted me. I lose my mind and confidence on every ball i get, even though im playing friendly matches!.. so i understand what you were saying about choose improvement over winning the match.. Super man! That is totally normal, and I understand it, I have been through it as well and its not easy to change that habit. But it if you change your focus to the improvement you will play much better on the court

I struggle with an incredibly competitive nature and find myself often berating myself on court for the very bad shots. Your comments on mentality hit me right in the gut. Your mindset is correct. I have coached so many tennis players, adults, that have the problem of playing matches using the same old tired strokes that they can hit with average ability. They ruin their game by competing at the same time they take lessons and don't try their new shots during their matches for fear of losing. It is so frustrating. I had gotten a woman to serve incredibly more relaxed, using a relaxed grip, continental grip, with kinetic chain from her core, finishing with pronation of her wrist. Increased her speed by 25 mph with 75 per cent consistency on both serves. What does she immediately do? Signs up for league play in a doubles group and refuses to try out her new serve technique under match play. She reverted back to the ugly pancake dink serve in matches and actually had the nerve to tell me that I ruined her serve. I dropped her as a client the next day and refunded her money. Needless to say, she has reverted to her ugly strokes and get injured more.

Great video. I've watched a lot since I started playing Padel last year and this is one of the best. Really sensible tips that are ready to understand. Yes, the mental side of the game, like in all sports, is really important and I'd welcome more from you on that. The mental side can be really difficult sometimes - I find it hard when I'm sometimes put in 'the fridge'. Any tips on that would be really great.

I guess that the best suggestion I learned is "BE solid, it's better to kick the ball in a stable position even if not in the perfect place than kick the ball running" I made fewer mistakes. FYI we won 6-2 6-2 6-2 as we used to say " Senza storia"
