Volvo Truck Turbo Boost Sensor | Volvo D12 | OTR Performance

Have issues with your fuel mileage on your Volvo D12? We show you how to replace and install a new Turbo boost sensor.
The Volvo D12 engine has a lot of sensors that fail prematurely without any warning, sometimes they cause fault codes to appear, this is one of those sensors that does not throw any faults when it fails mechanically.

Anything that interferes with the MAP sensor’s ability to monitor the pressure differential may upset the fuel mixture and ignition timing. This includes a problem with the MAP sensor itself. If your MAP sensor is going bad, you will notice surging, rough idle, a rich fuel condition, and a loss of power and fuel economy. This D12 Turbo Boost Sensor will help in restore your fuel mileage if the sensor has not been functioning properly.

This turbo boost sensor can be filled with soot which can lead to incorrect reading of the sensor.
The sensor is located on the driver side right above the Engine ECU. The location of this sensor is on top of the intake manifold and the harness connects inside the Vectro Box.

3) 1/4in Ratchet

5) 1/4 Extension
6) 3/8 12mm Socket
7) 1/4 10mm Socket
8) T30 Socket
9) T20 Socket

Do you guys know anything about a dashboard failure ,the panel sometimes goes out for complete, Nothing works ,digital computer lits but don't show any info ,all zeros on the selections - 2007 VNL780- D12 autoshift. I have no idea where to look at, to find the problem ,any suggestion ? location ? how to test ? etc... Thank you

Hello there. Good video. I have a fan clutch problem. The fan stays on everytime i replace fan clutch solenoid but it still turning all day what could it be. Now i notice a loud air leak coming straight out the fan clutch. Thank you.

You might have a switch on the dash wired to power your fan in the on position one of my d12’s has the feature from previous owner I hate when I forget to turn it off

For D13 Volvo 780 is it the same sensor?

You would have to call the dealer with your VIN for that part number. The sensor is different on D12 vs D13 engine.
