The EGR connection pipe - I bought one on eBay made of aluminum instead of plastic(great stuff, you'll have it for life). My old one cracked to many pieces.

Great video for cleaning EGR cooler on the D13 engine. I have a 2017 VNL 780 with a D13 and had to fix a coolant leak coming from that plastic connection pipe joint. I didn’t have to remove the EGR cooler to fix the leak. It would have been nice to see your method so I could have cleaned out my cooler. I didn’t want to remove the turbo so I just replace the pipe and o-rings. Unfortunately my truck is at that mileage where all the after treatment components need serviced and the dealer charges thousands for any of these repairs. If you have any tips on saving money when it comes down to after treatment system let us know. Thanks for the informative content.

Excellent video. My question is, if you are only cleaning the EGR cooler and both ends are open, can you just use air pressure to clean the EGR cooler while the EGR cooler is on the truck?

Excellent videos highly educational what I personally would like to see is Volvo D13 camshaft removal and reinstallation especially the gear part it. Is it possible to install the camshaft without using the special gauge to measure the gear slack off the camshaft gear and the gear that drives it. Thank you so much.

I think if you just replace cam and did not remove cylinder head the clearance will stay within guideline. The guage is not special and just a shim to make sure you set clearance correctly. I'll make a video once I get one that needs cam

I wonder. Could we attach a 3" hose to the back of the cooler and then blow it out without removing it? I guess it's not possible to fill it up completely with purple power if one tries that? Because there would still be some air space at the top . . .

You can do that on truck without removing egr cooler....take orange noot off then place 90° rubber hose in its place fill it up with super clean and let it sit for 1-2h then just rinse it with garden hose same result alot less time and money.

They have egr cooler cleaning solution which dissolves the soot in a blink- jendyl products the name of it. 70$ online for a gallon

Is it routine maintenance for clean egr cooler periodically or if truck give symptoms of cleaning it ,how many miles we should clean it, also I have code P04100 ,I PUT new differential pressure sensor but code keep coming on what should I do next. Thanks for your video

@abnindersaini4265 only if needed. depends how bad it is can last 6 months to couple years. Better to replace but cleaning will Give you some time

Could these be the same possible culprits on a 2015 MP7 engine, same P0401 code? And where is the venturi pipe located on the MP7? Also, my delta P sensor was wet inside. It didn't smell like coolant, but it was definitely wet. Thoughts? ​@@cardinaltruckservice3753

That horseshoe pipe is a nightmare to prevent from leaking either at idle or under load Its tha collar on the pipe itself on the lower portion

If you had the proper tool and chemical to clean the EGR, you wouldn't need to take it off and it would be done much quicker. You just need to open both ends and blow the chemical through with the machine for cleaning it.

Approximately how high did you lift the engine?

I haven't measured because I only lift just enough until I can get the cooler to fit. I think about 3-4 inches. You can probably gauge by looking at the driver side charge pipe and see if it's getting too tight.
