That low hanging cloud was simply a "scud" cloud formed by rapidly rising warm air being pushed up by the incoming mass of cooler air that makes up the derecho. Pretty cool!

Although it’s hanging down like a tornado appears in a photo, it’s not rotating. Neither are any f the initial low hanging clouds that resemble wall clouds. Tornados form near the back of a thundercloud, not the leading edges. But the awesome color changes were indicative of some with upper winds! Then that blast of wind was as brutal as some smaller tornadoes, for sure!

All those fast-moving clouds were part of the inflow being sucked into the rotation and that area is called the Rain Free Base. You might expect to see hail at the trailing edge of the Rain Free Base. Next comes the rain collum and straight-line winds being sucked toward the rotation and that is most of the damage I have noticed in videos, straight-line wind damage. Not saying a tornado didn't touch down somewhere but I haven't seen video evidence of tornado damage yet. Living in the Southern United States, we see plenty of these storms and tornados. This was a great video, you captured a cool scene unfolding. I might add that the changing of the color of the sky is due to light refraction through heavy rain and or hail.

We are more prone to "micro bursts" and not exactly tornados, you're totally correct. I'm pretty sure it was straight line wind damage as well. Thanks for all the info.

It's not a tornado, it's a "simple" downburst, practically strong straight-line winds coming down from the thunderstorm with heavy rain. They are very typical during summer months here in Northern Italy.

I drove through this storm. My car was shaking and wondered if I was driving through a tornado. There was almost zero visibility. I was in the exact location where a tornado crossed in 2018. Our part of the city had tremendous tree damage. There seemed to be fingers of extra high winds. You could see this in the aftermath, where sections of forest were massively blown down.

i'd suggest getting rid of the Tornado in the video and making it a Bow Echo, bow echos have strong winds and common to move quickly.

Look into the grand solar minimum. Alot of folks try to say it isn't happening out of normalcy bias or not trying to scare people or w.e. but with all the crazy weather happening lately and the way the sun has been acting, I believe we r deff in it. So find a few good videos about it by folks who rnt just trying to debunk it and look into it. It deff explains alot of what is going on.
@TechieXP2 жыл бұрын
I wasn't a tornado. But it did try. Fact - tornadoes do happen at the front of a storm. You did see the tornadoes cloud. But it never rotated and it didn't create a funnel. All tornados don't always make it to the ground. Some happen above the storm cloud and funnels can form above and simply never come down. Those clouds that vame low were heavy with water. But as you can hear there was barely any wind. The rain was certain heavy and it is a tornado producing cloud, but sorry to bust your bubble; it didn't happen.

Well, then you must not have an trees or hydro lines left. Here in West Ottawa (Kanata), pretty much every 2nd house on my street lost a large tree, another’s large springfree trampoline ended up in their inground pool, and we were without power for 3 days. Several hydro poles near my home snapped at their base like twigs, and several large metal hydro towers crumbled over like they were made of thin tin. Oh, and a school in Nepean lost its roof. But sure, you have wind like that every day👍🏼
@leaf21802 жыл бұрын
@@binary110 130km/hr, aka 80mph. Winds like that are pretty common in the midwest. Especially the southwest. Trees around there have adapted to the abuse and can take it better than areas in the north and northeast. I live in Ohio and can only imagine the debris from 80mph winds now. We had it in 2012, but plants have grown a lot since then lol. It also did a lot of damage then anyway.
