The song was written according to the legends of the Dolgan people. The song is in the Dolgan language (a dialect of Yakut, which is common in Taimyr). The text tells about the Ice Age, mammoths and ancient people who inhabited northern Siberia. The lyrical composition is performed on ethnic musical instruments of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. In the track you can hear the sounds of cracking ice, the tread of a mammoth and the life of cave dwellers. The music immerses you in a different, pre-civilization era, in the wild, cold, prehistoric tundra. The meaning of the song includes the hypothesis of the initial settlement of America by indigenous peoples from Siberia through the Bering Strait. The main feature of the composition is the male choir of throat singing.

They are exquisite artists/musicians, I greatly appreciate their rootedness to their culture and their closeness to Native Americans. They are supernaturally beautiful young women, the combination is electrifying and much appreciated by me. The politics of the music industry is well known, some members leave, only to be replaced by equally talented and beautiful musicians. I'm 70 years old, still working, still playing music, and I am eternally grateful I have had the opportunity to see Otyken in my brief lifetime.

Every movie over the last 30-50 years that has had Siberia in it has made it seem like some dark drab freezing cold apocalyptic place that either “violent Russian criminals” “or workers who need to be punished by mother Russia” end up going to. Otyken has been 100% responsible in bringing the mystery and awe of Siberia out to the world through their talents and beauty - I would say that’s a pretty damn remarkable task! I would never have done any investigation into Siberia if it weren’t for their music, and after seeing how gorgeous it can be, I’m super happy I was able to virtually discover it! I’m battling two chronic and terminal illnesses, my days of travel are all but over and Siberia would never have been on my bucket list. While it will never be a fulfilled bucket list, I have DEFINITELY put Siberia on it!! 😃👍🏼☮️🤠

I’m in my 50’s and that’s an early age to have to think about where I want to be when I pass, but I HAVE thought about it. I’m in 🇨🇦, and we have some gorgeous country here but if I could wave a magic wand to be transported for my last month or two… (1) Alaska (near the sea and mountains), (2) Siberia and (3) Bora Bora in French Polynesia. Time of year would be the deciding factor if magic existed! 😂👍🏼☮️

There are Mammoth statues in the Khanty and Mansi Autonomous Okrugs in Russia Siberia just past the Ural mountains. It was one of the last and final places where Mammoths lived before they went extinct. It's also the birthplace of all Uralic Tribes including us Hungarians so I really hope to go there one day. 👍😊

Every single one of Otyken's songs are unique and very very special. This one is no different. Azyan's singing in this one is wonderful with that soft persistent cooing growl. The music is Mongolian influenced perhaps due to Tana being half Mongolian, half Chinese. Top 3 all time band for me. Some Similar spirituality like Otyken but much deeper lyrics.
