Amen to that. He is not head coach material. 0-3 in bowls, every single one of them, had Florida State, Arizona, & Navy on the ropes, couldn't close the deal. Anything less than 9-3, 8-4 next season, it's pink slip time. I hope they can get some more linemen in the portal. That's not going to look good if Mateer is running for his life all the time. Doesn't make much, if any, sense to get a new OC & QB & not have the linemen to protect him. The pressure's all on Arbuckle. It's going to be an interesting offseason. Embarrassing year, not to mention frustrating. Now, as a DC? Stud.

At this juncture I wouldn't be opposed to seeing OU's president fired, Joe Castiglione fired and all of our coaching staff fired because every one of them has a part in our downfall. They also need to stop listening to Bob Stoops in his recommendations he also has a part in this nonsense. It's going to take years if ever to turn it around.

My overall rating and observations for OU this season are as follows: Offensive production = Poor. (D+) Kicking game = Poor. (C+) Punting game = Poor. (B) Receiving game = Poor. (D) Line play = (D) QB = (D+) Running Backs = (C) Receivers = (D-) TE = (D-) Coaching = (D+) Defense production = Above Average. (B+) Line play = (A-) Linebackers = (B+) Secondary = (C+) Third Down Stops = (B+) Turnovers = (B) Punt coverage = (A) Kickoff coverage = (A-) Coaching = (B+) The team's Offense: The offensive side appeared to take a giant step backward by hiring Seth Littrell. The overall Offense underperformed all season, and this game was no exception. Much like the O-line play, the quarterback play was abysmal, with Michal Hawkins being the only bright spot. The best one could call the O-Line, and quarterback play this season is bad! Both seemed to lack development. Most were shocked when we discovered that the QBs had no dedicated coach for most of the season, which, once discovered, caused the in-season promotion of Kevin Johns. This was shocking to most people. How could Brent Venables overlook such a basic yet important position on the coaching staff? The tight ends were largely absent or underperformed throughout the year. The receivers OU had available could not get open or catch a ball, especially in critical situations. The receivers should return to catching 200 tennis balls daily, which seemed to work in the past. The running back play had moments but lacked anything like the past OU teams. The running backs lack dynamic players in the backfield, which hurt OU's overall performance. Demarco Murray has failed to develop the running backs. Since removing Cale Gundy, OU hasn't had a dynamic running back. The kicking game improved over last year, but last year was an all-time low compared to previous Oklahoma Sooner teams. Overall, the Sooner's Offense is sub-par, and I don't see any light on the horizon unless the new offensive coordinator, Ben Arbuckle, can make a massive change somehow. Right now, the offensive side of the ball lacks talent, confidence, and a willingness to win. The team's Defense: The D-line play was solid, with several great players. Highlighting players like R. Mason Thomas, Trace Ford, Ethan Downs, Gracen Halton, Damonic Williams, Jayden Jackson, and Caiden Woulllard. This is an excellent group of players and coaching. The Linebackers are another bright spot for OU, Danny Stutsman, Kobie McKinzie, and Kip Lewis. They have an excellent group of players and coaching. The Defensive Backs were also solid, and Billy Bowman, Gentry Williams, Kendel Dolby, Payton Bowen, and Eli Bowen made some fantastic plays. The Special Teams: The special teams were better than last season but lacked a dynamic returner. Kicking improved overall, but too many makeable field goals were missed. Punting and kickoffs were improved. To me, the team lacks a championship mentality. They coast when ahead and seem to find a way to lose. Once behind, they appear to melt down as the game continues, and the opposition's mental resolve to win strengthens. The mental errors have been abundant, while the big plays or key plays have mainly been absent all season. The coaching has been less than impressive, often making odd calls, which clearly hurt the team's chances of winning.

CFB two point conversion success rate is 48%... but with OU's current offense the odds of converting a two point conversion is probably not near that. IN OT you have at least four plays to hope that one gets you a first down. I think this OU offense has a better chance at that than making three yards on a one shot deal.

You guys are a bunch of spoiled cry babies. We went into a game missing so many of our top players from offense & defense, from Portal & injury. We played we so many freshmen We have not had a main running back for haft the season. Same with wide receivers. Next Year we will have a new offense & a talented QB as some good receivers coming in. Hawkins looked so much better after only two weeks under Arbuckle help. I like this show But get sick of all the unjust wine you put out. We played Navy to the end with this half of Football team we put on the field today.
