saw them open for japanese breakfast later that year. michelle zauner gave 'em a shoutout between songs as the greatest band in the biz. they stole the show that night, for sure. RIP.

A strangely relaxing voice...like Roy Orbison, Robert Smith, Peter Murphy and some old guy who jumped on stage and grabbed a mic because he doesnt care what you think...all rolled into one wispy package with a Telecaster strapped on the front. I like it.

I feel like I'm listening to Joy Division with Syd Vicious on vocals. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet.

Of course there are 2 Tim's in the band. The band of Tims. The Sex Pistols had a bunch of John's in their band. They almost called themselves The band of Johns.

WTF sounds like Luton's 4th best Ought tribute band. None of that beautiful cocky energy from the previous kexp is there. The presenter is clearly uninterested and careless, unlike the ever generous Cheryl.

Abandonaron ese sonido mas post-hardcore que tenian y se volvieron mas new wave/post punk

Idk, Tim Darcy's vocals are a lot more developed and thought out on the record. I do feel like they went in a much more poppy direction on this one, though. But I given Tim Darcy's solo album it kind of makes sense. It feels like a great bled of his solo stuff and Ought to me. I dig it. If they take things in an even more poppy direction for the next record I could see it being a legitimate problem. But I have faith they'll keep on an experimental rout. Fingers crossed!
