Coaches had all spring, summer and fall to figure out a decent offensive line, running back 1 and quarterback. Hawkins and Taylor give us the best opportunity with the offensive line woes

As a Tennessee fan Hawkins is a BALLER. That's who you need at QB not Arnold. The moment was too big for Arnold but the other kid was willing to risk his entire body to make a play 2022 Hendon Hooker style..was very impressed with that kid.. he's going to be really good if Venerables gives him a fair shot over Arnold.

I'm a Vols fan. Happy we won and wish we could have played a bit better in the second half, but have a lot of respect for Oklahoma as a program. OU defense looks very solid, but obviously issues with injuries and the offense hurt the team. Hope OU gets it figured out for the rest of the season and best of luck to OU.

As a TN fan I think OU is a completely different monster if the O-line can get shored up and Hawkins can start. Also, I feel like OU's secondary was better than TNs, which is saying something because I feel TNs secondary played a LOT better than I expected them to. Excellent sub in on Hawkins - I'll be honest I thought it was going to go horribly wrong and boy was I wrong. That young man has some insane speed and can hit most of his marks.

Need to make an OC change. Play calling and offensive development isn’t there. Don’t know if Finley is the answer at OC but Littrell is not what the Sooners need as Offensive Coordinator. Hawkins is a better QB. Arnold has turned into a major bust. He can’t handle the spotlight and has not progressed at all in fact he has gotten worse. Defense played their ass off against a deep Tennessee team. Bonehead turnovers killed OU and Arnold is the king of bonehead turnovers.

The injuries on O line are huge. But the question is: How do we have so many guys hurt so bad so early in the season? We had a whole off season to try and get SOMETHING and we produce a O-line worse than a rural town's junior high team. And it seems the coaches just don't give a shit as long as they get their money. The defense is making effort right now, but they won't survive half-way through the season if they are the only ones playing.

Defense is elite and the real deal, Gave Arnold the ball on a gold plate to score and he turned it over both times on the first snap, one right at the 5 yard line!!! At least we found a QB. Hawkins needs to be the starter. This game was winnable but the offense lays an egg yet again. Defense was really good if not great. Offense was pitiful. Oline is trash. Littrell and Finley need to be fired for this shit. You can’t excuse the type of playcalling that’s put OU in this position. Players have to execute, but coaches need to call a better game in certain situations. We got a turnover on their 5 yard line and gave it right back the very next play by calling a bad play. You’re right there. You HAVE TO score, and you’re running out of the shotgun. A QB run at that when the Oline is getting beat up the middle. This is 90’s bad.

As a Vol fan it’s always nice to get a win against a ranked team, especially on the road. OU’s defense is for real. There’s no doubt they disrupted Tennessee’s offensive plans. With that said, so proud of our defense. They are playing really great football. Their qb struggled, some self induced, but Tennessee deserves credit as well. Really good against the running game. As an outsider I’d definitely go with that kid that came off the bench at qb. He showed a lot of heart and sparked a stagnant offense. Good luck OU. Unfortunately for both of us it doesn’t get easier…

I think people are being way too hard on Arnold…. Yes he didn’t look good but I blame the coaches… you know your Oline isn’t good so why just drop back and try and pass? You had success moving the pocket with Arnold during the first half of the Tulane game and then got away with it until the end of the game and you went back to it. Against Tennessee you didn’t start moving the pocket until Hawkins got in the game and surprise you had success. Both QBs are dual threat QBs so why run different offenses with them???

Cannot overemphasize how much a quality offensive line means to a team. The OU line is trying their best but the skill and experience just isn't there to compete at an SEC level. The receiving corp is pretty much just one player now. Hard to be a quality qb with those tools. Defense was incredible. Really only gave up about 14 pts to a great TN offense.

If that's true then how come all we have heard about is how much depth Tennessee has on defense and everywhere? If we don't have 2nd and 3rd string guys playing everywhere on offense and Jackson doesn't give you 12 points on 3 turnovers this game is even closer than 10. OU has been without their top 3 returning receivers (Farooq, Anderson, Andrel Anthony) and multiple offensive lineman. To Tennessee credit they took advantage of our turnovers and we gave them the ball back the next play 2 times after forcing turnovers. If anyone was "tired" it was Oklahoma's defense and they still played their ass off so it's okay to give them credit and not come up with BS excuses especially saying Tennessee was tired. If Hawkins starts and gets in a groove look out OU will be a major threat

One of the biggest problems on offense is the offensive line doesn’t communicate anything. Even if they blocked the people they would perform much better if they communicated like the defense does.

Start Hawkins. Jackson is a nice kid, but those turnovers literally cost the game. OUr defense played well enough to win & deserved to see some of their forced turnovers turned into points. Those 2 BAD fumbles killed all the momentum when the palace was fixing to explode. Not a hard decision

When your defense plays like THAT, it should always be a W. Littrell needs to be canned, we need to hire an actual QB coach. As shitty as JA played, I have to give him some grace because the QB room clearly has no development in any way shape or form. Any QB playing under Littrell will be wasted talent.

If I took anything from this game its at least we have some depth at QB. Whoever starts needs to step up and make plays. Good plays that are called properly. Its not rocket science its football. Put your head down and run through them.
