Our 1989 Mitsubishi Montero LS introduction walkthrough & the plans for its restoration build.

In 2022 we saved this 1989 Montero that was sitting for 10 years at the previous owners detailing business as an advertising piece. I have been wanting a Gen 1 for a couple years but I guess faith brought me to this one.
I did a video last year showing initially how I found it and the preliminary inspection. This video will be in more depth going through the Montero showing the good and bad things about before we start restoring it.
This video will be the 1st of many videos as we start rebuilding and restoring this legendary SUV by ‪@mitsubishicars‬ .

Just a tip if you don't know yet, the steel pipe in the lifter valley dusts out and it looses coolant into there. You can't see coolant running out there and if you're not aware of it the motor can overheat.

Yes that can be another issue with the "valley pipe". I will know more when I start tearing it down. I am planning to start taking things apart next month. Hopefully I can possibly find the culprit of what caused the coolant loss.

This, a Pajero, Estrada are the vehicles we were familiar with as a kid in the Philippines. Great vehicles

I wanted one back in 1999 when I went back to the P.I. for my Lolo and Lola's golden anniversary/family reunion. My uncle had several Mitsubishis. I remember riding in his Pajero going up the mountains to Baguio and how awesome and fun it was even though the roads were super sketchy. Definitely great vehicles!

excelente carro ,tengo 2 Monteros, un v6 3000 cc, y un 2600: a carburador, dónde estas hay repuestos lo q desees, cuídalos son lo mejor 4 x 4 , fiabilidad, y fuertes para viajar y de uso diario, felicitaciones, exitos, espero digas como quedó arreglado y q le hiciste , saludos de Ecuador.
