Thanks for the tip on the Vibex. I'm hanging a GoPro 4 Silver off the aft tiedown on a PA-28 and getting a bit of vibration and no horizontal adjustment.

Good report. If there’s a low cut filter on your camera you should record with it ON to avoid the low frequency handling noise.

An interesting walk round and good techy stuff. I never have trusted the suction mounts so use my (ageing) Contour cam on the inside. I've broken loads of mounts with the canopy frame so the next iteration will be a 3d printed custom mount. All I have to do now is learn CAD :) Blue skies!

awesome view of your camera attaches. I use that suction cup on our 172 - works great...but the same mount on our 182 - gets all kind of vibrations. for audio I use the Sony audio recorder (and not my VIRBs or GoPros)

Love the mounts. Any ideas on the legalities behind mounting a camera on an airplane in Canada. From a quick search, the CARS don't go into any specifics about mounting cameras.

The tail wheel leaf spring mount is acting as a clamp holding the leafs together, I'd be worried about you hitting something hard and loosing the camera. You wouldn't put a camera on the coil spring of your car would you?

Jake - I think you got it right - there will be relative motion between the leaves of the spring when it deflects, potentially dislodging the mount. Moving it a couple of inches lower would help some, just before the next clamp.

At ~10:36, why is the tailwheel not rigged to the rudder yoke? What is that second set of cables? I've got the same cutouts/fairings on my 170, but haven't figured them out.

The Camera mount above and behind your seats in the plane has 2 screws. Are they attached to a cross brace? I'm setting up a recently refurbished Cessna 140 with cameras. Is it similar?

Lots of off airport landings to swap batteries! we do have usb chargers on the panel so we can charge while we fly!

@@FLY8MA thanks! Follow up.....the cameras mounted outside, are they recording all the time? I tried using the GoPro app to turn the cameras on and off to save battery, but after a while of them being off, I couldn't get them to connect to turn back on and record. How do you manage the on/off, recording/not recording shuffle?
