Thanks for all the responses so far. Check out the channels in all the comments below, add your own favourites, and let's grow these communities together. As promised in the video here are the channels I watch the most: - Niko's Wings (fellow Cirrus pilot and one of the most generous guys you'll ever meet) - Steveo1Kinevo (one of the originals, and I want an eScooter race with him one day soon) - The Flying Reporter (professionally made and fun to watch flying videos from the UK) - Trent Palmer (amazing visuals and he lands on the side of mountains, that's pretty cool) - Mojo Grip (if you like home builds, he's building his own Sling TSi) - Becki and Chris (adventures in helicopters and great design/filming tips) Outside of aviation I also really like: - Thomas Heaton (landscape photography and someone who also loves nature and exploration) - Currently Hannah (fellow Aussie traveller with amazing cinematography and fun stories) - MKBHD (not that he needs more followers! but a great presenter and great tech content) - Kai W (photography reviews and tech vlogs) - Sarah Dietschy (tech, visuals, and very creative vlogs) - Matti Haapoja (photography, tech, and vlogging) There are many more channels I watch, but those are the ones I pay attention to whenever they upload. stef 👍

Alright here are mine... They aren’t proper pilots, and don’t make videos on their experiences as a pilot. They are younger people who are learning to fly and have a passion for aviation. They make flight sim videos from: - Flying with their friends - Aircraft review - Accident analysis - Information about different airlines - Videos like “how has COVID 19 affected the aviation industry” - Weekly dose of aviation - General flying information and facts about aviation They are: Swiss001 kzbin.info lucaas kzbin.info AirForceproud95 kzbin.info And a channel that isn’t a young person but has a lot of cool videos: kzbin.info Outside of Aviation, one channel that I tune into regularly is Urbanist: Exploring Cities. I’ve been a fan of this channel since it was very small (about 300 subscribers reaching about 40 viewers in their live tours of famous cities across the world). Now, the channel has grown with over 21.9K and averages about 450 viewers per stream, but it deserves way more! Ariel, the creator behind the channel, is such a warm, loving and funny person, who I’m sure you will want to keep watching. I speak to him (privately over Instagram DM’s) about his videos and how they are a great way to explore different cities. He is a lovely person, with an amazing channel. Here is the link: Urbanist: Exploring Cities kzbin.info

Another advantage to filming your training even if you don't post on social media. You can go back later to look for possible mistakes or areas that you can improve that you might not necessarily catch in the actual flight. As long as your instructor is ok with it I say do it even if only for your personal use. Hope this helps you, good luck and have fun.

Starting from the top, my favourite KZbin channels are, 1. Stefan Drury - I am a Sri Lankan loving Australia so much, and I miss there so much when I am back in my country (Have visited there 5 times between 2018 and 2020 and waiting patiently to get a student visa to Australia and start flying for a CPL) so for me to have a better look at Australia, I always visit your channel. Also the other special thing, Your flights start from Moorabbin airport, Which is a special airport in my life, Did my first helicopter pilot lesson there, Did my first fixed wing flying lesson there and Also the best experience I had so far in my life; Skydiving, That flight did also took off from Moorabbin. Your videos consist of lot of information and knowledge. Being the owner of an aerial film making and a drone service providing company in Sri Lanka, I like the way you compose, script, concepts and post process all these videos. There is a really good content there on each of your videos. There's not a single video that I left half watched on your channel. Some day, it is also one of my dreams to start a aviation KZbin Channel when I start flying. So it is not just aviation that I learn from this channel, But some pretty good guides and tips about how to become a better KZbinr ( More than a KZbinr, I see this channel as an Academy). I can clearly see you're not doing this just for the sake of doing a channel, There is enthusiasm, Passion and dedication. (I think they are the key things for success right?) I got more than enough gear to do all the recording and editing, But I just don't have a plane anywhere close to me yet. So I am kinda stuck at the moment with this covid 19 situation. Thanks to your videos again, I'm just one click away from Australia. From all of the videos I have watched from your channel, I still watch the series of the outback trip repeatedly. Some videos, I have watched more than 5 times. I have overflown Australia during my trips to Melbourne, But that was from 40,000 ft above. First time I flew to Australia was the first time I flew on an Emirates Airbus A380 (got an upgrade to business class as well! one of the best surprises so far), I couldn't see what I wanted to see from the aircraft (Intended that I'll be able to see Ayer's rock with sunrise from up there, but things were looking so tiny from up there LOL! - So here comes your outback series! Got what I need to see. There's a lot more to tell but, May be we'll catch up someday. Until then keep doing good stuff as usual! and Good luck! 2. Aviation101 - Just Amazing! Lots of lessons, information, creativity..... Loving that channel too! 3. Swayne Martin - Creative and interesting! 3. Steveo1Kinevo - Awesome! Very interesting stuff. Other Aviation KZbin Channels I don't miss watching, Angle of Attack Pilot Bambi Missionary Bush Pilot Live from the flight deck Backcountry Pilot Becki and Chris Captain Joe Apart from Aviation, "Ozzy Man Reviews" is my favourite!

Love Steve’o and Niko’s channels, P1D, Flightchops and Martin Pauly also. What sets Stef’s channel aside in my opinion is the degree of honesty and candor which he conveys in his videos. A real, open, safety-conscious private pilot who is fully aware of the risks associated with not flying as often as some of the other guys (who mostly fly, at least in part, for business) and is also maybe a bit more « in touch » with the average non-US private pilot in terms of everyday concerns. Love your channel Stef, keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see your around the world adventure if that’s still on the cards.

I honestly don’t have one favorite because I love each channel for different reasons. But these are my top channels I watch daily. 74 Gear - because he reviews the movies and has an interesting insight on things. Steveo1Kinevo - Because he flies the most on camera, his voice is always calm and he has nice dialogue while he’s flying the plane. Citation Max - Because I love to see him fly his jet to awesome destinations. And he has a swag about him. Stefan Drury - of course yours because I think your the only one who really who shows how you record, how you do audio, how things work. And you make your videos feel more laidback and personal. 310 Pilot - Because he’s currently doing what I wish I could do with my son and family. Taking the family plane and flying everywhere for vacations and experiences. MojoGrip - You can’t skip this guy. Idk anyone who has reviewed more planes on KZbin than him, plus he gives his opinions, sits inside and everything. Also, he’s currently building his own plane right now so I love seeing that process.

My favourite KZbin channels are quite diverse. You asked about flying so let's start with travel channels. Obviously, I love your channel so "Stefan Drury" first... but after that in no specific order... Those would be the inspirational "Kara and Nate" who are currently travelling the USA following 4 years visiting 100 countries; not flying at the moment, but they'll no doubt be back when they can. I really enjoy watching "Wingin' It! Paul Lucas" who has a really diverse forms of transport that he uses and goes on so many wonderful journeys. "Premier 1 Driver" is always a good watch, and I love that such a successful businessman makes the time to share his love of flying. "Life in the FL" is next... he's so great how he goes into detail of explaining all his flight planning, weather analysis, and massive respect for him managing to do low passes at EWR-LGA-JFK in his RV-8 during the early COVID-19 pandemic. Finally (but certainly one of my preferred travel channels) is "Geoff Marshall" who is such an amazing advocate of train (& tube) travel in the UK. Beyond that I really enjoy "Tom Scott", "Mark Rober" and "JerryRigEverything" (although only really his non-teardown videos). Finally, my one real dirty pleasure is your fellow countryman "Drain Addict" from Sydney - his videos are addictive!!! Watching you throughout lockdown has inspired me. I once flew solo in a glider as a teenager and now I'm hoping for flying lessons for Christmas!

Hi, totally agree with your mounts in metal as much as possible. With a mount I am using each part pretty much has a safety back up. Though just have beware some these metal cases are only holded in on the back by a spring I prefer not just rely on one safety system. Some ball mounts are wrapped by plastic again i did not use them.

I can never really understand the "down" votes on a video that is informative and simply the way one person creates content for their own YT channel. Besides, he is just responding to questions that viewers have sent in. If you don't like the way the video is presented at least have the good will (or balls) to offer your opinion (as constructive criticism) in the comments rather than just hit that thumbs down icon. There is more convenient way to record audio syncronized with video. I just use gopro hero8 and audio adapter to it and then I conect it to aircraft audio output. The adaptor levels the audio so at the end it sounds very good, and it already looks like complete video with sound.

Great info. I'm a pilot too and shoot but never posted. I'd like to start. I don't have a fave. I watch YT with many different subjects, like aviation, EV's, video, guns, cars the list goes on.

Funnily I skipped over this video last year as I had no need to watch it, while today I was flying a friend around. You were one of the big influences in my finally deciding to just go for it earlier in the year so giant thank you for that and the rest of the content. I'm curious if managing the cameras gets easier over time? Today was only my third flight with a camera and twice I ended up forgetting about it. As you pointed out it is never a case of juggling flying and filming. Does it just get easier over time like the rest of it where you remember to film? I'm still not passed that point where just admiring the outside world is enough to take up the spare time between tasks.

Love your channel Stefan. A small but growing great channel is Martin Pauley. He is from Germany but lives in the midwest US. He fly's a Bonanza. His vids are great and he also uses them to tell a story. Also 310 Pilot is great.

I enjoy your channel as well as Aviation 101, 310 pilot, and since I’m new to flying, a student with only two flights under my belt, I enjoy the instructional videos from Flying8MA. I’ll read the comment for other suggestions. Be safe

The NFlight spanner plates on their website have a picture of the ball mount. They have an option without the ball mount. Is that the one you have and are able to screw in the bolt type mount? To me that looks much more secure than the ball mount. Thanks for the video. Just recently found your channel and it fun going back through all your videos. I’m looking forward to the next.

Besides the channels you mentioned, Stefan, I also like the following ones: *** Aviation *** - Pilot Yellow (about flying helicopters) - Backcountry182 (a guy flies a C182 and a YAK-52 around Costa-Rica) - Fly8MA (especially their series on destroying an aircraft) - Taking Off (more talk than action but still very interesting) - Stefan Langer (on flying gliders) - Pilot Bambi (GA in Europe) *** Video Editing (in DaVinci Resolve) *** - Casey Faris - MrAlexTech

I used to watch alot of American KZbinrs but when I found you a few years ago I've lost interest in watching them as Im more interested in Australian aviation. Another reason why is that some are not genuine and only worry about likes and views which i find very annoying. But sometimes I do like watching Citation Max or Premier1driver!! Love watching your videos mate.

Hi Stef Thank you for answering my ND-filter question. I just had my Rockwell Commander 112A in the annual/100h service. They installed the same wing mount as you have (including all the EASA Papers). However, I hope that tomorrow the weather will be fine for a check flight with the GoPro 360 on my wing. Looking forward for more beautiful videos of your flights. Best regards, from Switzerland. Alain /Pilot GJ

Stefan - regarding your video storage, perhaps look into a Synology NAS, can get a 5 or 8 bay version, pop 8 or 10TB hard drives in there, will help get rid of excessive little drives?
