The hot springs looks incredible! You have inspired me to work on an Alaskan trip maybe in 2026. I'm SO intimidated.

We were intimidated too and put it off for years. I really wish we didn't!! Definitely start planning your trip and enjoy!! It was the best time of our lives.

Hi George, we're doing well. We had a family matter happen a few months ago and have been dealing with that, but we're all good. I actually had some time to catch up on editing these past few weeks so we'll be posting again starting this Sunday! Thanks so much for the concern and for sticking with us since the beginning :)

@@GetawayCouple Sorry about the family matter, but glad to hear you're well. We've always enjoyed your channel all these years and it's good to hear you'll be posting again. God bless. 😊

Good luck with the Klondike Hwy and TOW. Lots of dirt, gravel and rocks. We stayed on the ALCAN last week and we still spend an hour at the power carwash in TOK. From Tok, we took our Honda CRV to Chicken one day, and that road from Tok was pretty rude, deep dips even for a car going to Chicken. The ALCAN is easier and quicker drive, but still dippy in places.
@GetawayCouple4 ай бұрын
Yes, that part of the highway was awful! Definitely have a dirty truck camper after these roads lol.

Sorry that you are not having fun in Alaska. We have been in state since May 7 and are really enjoying it here.

Oh no, where did we say we weren't having a fun time? The road are rough be we are LOVING Alaska!

@@GetawayCouple I stand corrected. Glad you are enjoying Alaska. Maybe our paths will cross again as we will be here for another month. I helped you jump start your truck when we were staying at Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge TN back in 2018.

That looked like fun. I’ll just live through you. I hate the cold. That bar would not be a place for me. And the prices would scare my husband away. I think I would have loved the North Pole. I would need a lot of space for all the ornaments I would have purchased. And I would have definitely sent letters to my grandkids. One grandson I can think of for sure. He’s a wild child. Maybe he would straighten up if he knew Santa was watching.

Yes! They have letters for both good and bad kids, it was pretty funny. My niece may or may not have gotten the bad one 😂 And yes the bar prices were a bit too high for us.

Chena Hot Springs is a wonderful stop. Best time to go is in the winter as you can watch the aurora from the comfort of the outdoor pool. Did you take the alternative energy tour of their power plant and greenhouses? I take it that this is last year?
@GetawayCouple3 ай бұрын
Yes, this is last year. We didn't take the tour but wish we did. We would love to visit that place in the winter!

Hope your Alaskan trip was a great adventure. ....have a question, was wondering if ya'll knew what happened to YT channel Embracing detours?
@GetawayCouple3 ай бұрын
Hi Jeff! Alaska was amazing. We actually don't know what happened to Embracing Detours. We don't know them personally so don't have any updates. Hope all is well with them though!

Santa was a Grumpy Gus the day we were there...I think he got up on the wrong side of Mrs. Claus.

People pay a lot more than that to ride a roller coaster and theme park! If it wasn’t for bears I would love to see all you are sharing.

Welcome to Alaska, a lot of our place names will be based off native names and are hard to pronounce. Get used to paying premium, most of the state is in full tourism mode. Enjoy my home state, it is like no other and the weather changes hourly. Beware our state bird the mosquito. 🦟
@GetawayCouple4 ай бұрын
Thanks for all the tips! We're starting to get familiar with the state bird already 😂
