I believe that because the following information is relatively new, there's a real chance you haven't heard it. I also chose primatology as one of my minors, even though both doctorates are in different but STEM-related fields. Full disclosure. *Scientific papers in the Journal Nature published a few years ago shed new light on just what causes a perfectly placid chimpanzee to suddenly become dangerous. No, it isn't puberty or his wild instincts suddenly kicking in. Their social heirarchy is so intensely-woven and complex that when you remove them from it and force them to live as a human (they may share 98.6% of our DNA but that 1.4% lacking is still just not enough to make them fully human), compared to what they would have had with life with their mums, it is an isolation so deep that it physically causes very real brain damage. And the sad part, if you need anything sadder than that, is that every bit of the damage is irreparable. ALL. OF. IT.* I truly hope you didn't know this before, but now there will be absolutely no way you can unknow it. It will remain with you until you are no longer alive, because even though you went about it in a horrible and selfish way, I believe a part of you really does love him. It just isn't and wasn't the way he needs/needed to be loved. And now that you know how he is being affected by what you did, it will only get worse the longer he is in your care. Now that you know this, you won't be able to look at your other baby without knowing this is the future in store for him, too. There could still be time for you to get him into a real sanctuary so you can spare him the damage he is about to receive. PLEASE! And if you don't feel comfortable discussing it here, send me a DM. Just think about everything. For their sakes and not for what you want. 🤎🖤🐵🦍

This is the most wonderful thing. This little guy has a wonderful chance at life because of you two! It may not have been his natural life with his mom who rejected him and he may have not survived if it weren't for you guys. It will be able to live the best life possible given by the sanctuary. That's all great and everything but it's not a human being and they're treating it like it is and when that thing gets full grown it's not so much fun anymore. After puberty it's a completely different animal they become extremely territorial and unpredictable they will either masturbate or if they have a partner have sex over fifty times a day that is all they do and if those people have children around it's extremely dangerous for those children. Then if they're spoiling it giving it something everyday and it gets used to that and one day it doesn't get it he's going to go off and hurt or kill somebody like that one named Travis up in Connecticut that ate that lady's face and hands off. You can't negotiate with it or explain things to it it's not a person. I'm all about rescuing animals and giving them love and affection and sanctuary but treating it like it's a human baby and spoiling it with all of these human things is wrong!!

Animals are so instinctive, they recognise and remember the character of every single human they meet. They only took care of him when he was sick and recovering from injuries. Not all human intervention is bad.
