Not so sure. Boaty McBoatFace was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion for a British polar exploration vessel that appealed to the public’s sense of the ridiculous. In the end, the vessel was named something eminently more appropriate (If you don’t know, look her up as she’s a fine vessel). Not entirely humourless, Boaty… became the name of an ROV. So Yatchy Mc… would have been both derivative and refer to an undersea vessel, which would have been entirely inappropriate and a slur on Bering’s admirable and obvious skills. Meanwhile, our videographers chose an excellent name for themselves. Bless her and all who sail in her.

The most important thing is that you are happy with the name choice for your yacht. I certainly agree with your selection criteria that the name be one word (not too lengthy) and something that can be easily pronounced and spelled internationally. It’s easy to discern that you gave your name choice a lot of consideration. I’m excited to see a complete walkthrough and review when it is completed. The sea trials will also be amazing to see!! ⚓️

I'm a retired US Marine on Social Security and could never afford such a great yacht or even a trip on one - LOL. I watched your channel(s) because you always have fun and present a very honest sense of enjoyment for boating. I considered myself a bit distant from the name choice because these things I mentioned would not be changed. Or so I thought ... when I heard the name, I almost cried - seriously. It is the perfect name for your home - the way you've pursued this dream like tempered steel - the way an entire community around the globe watched, cheered, supported, and really cared about your efforts like the facets of the hardest diamond. That . . . is . . . simply . . . brilliant! A lovely name with thought and meaning behind it that fulfils every criteria you set out. One thing tho, have you checked to ensure the caviar company hasn't trademarked the name in categories you would want to use such as apparel, tableware or homeware? I assume you have as it would be sensible to register the wordmark/trademark in those kinds of categories before announcing it to the world lest someone beat you to it. Imagine not being able to print a shirt with your ship's name on it.
