Underwater it is stunning, dramatic and quite brilliant. But... above the water, those asparagus ferns don't, for me, fit in with the scale of everything else, they are too big. Some smaller, tree-like, plants would be more in keeping with the scale of the planting underwater. I'm sort of imagining mountain side with trees, but seen from a distance. Still a great achievement though. 👍🏻

Yes, we could have enhanced the diorama effect with smaller plants, I just didn't have any idea how to do that on this scale. Room to improve. :)

Stunning that's for sure, but agree about part above the water, something 'smaller' will fit better. Amazing job as usual, no need to comment that, just keep going :)

Since I'm with this channel so long (and I was a supporter as long as i could) I have a wish: A new video entirely dedicaded to Takashi Amano and nature. I'm sure that Balazs and GA Team will make a masterpiece! Thank you for bringing me joy, serenity and a lots of information and creativity. As a graduate in Environmental Science I really appreciate what you do and the passion you put into products. I bought some products from your website that I really appreciate in scaping my terrariums. I think that my IKIGAI is to spread love for nature and i think we are on the same page! Fish, plants and hardscape... Yep that's what its about! You guys have the best video production quality and some of the best aquascaping there is too see on KZbin. However, having watched you for years, I can't help but notice fish are merely an afterthought at Green Aqua, mostly not even mentioned in videos. Also I was wondering why the channel has plateaued on sub numbers and I think the reason is that you do not talk about fish enough which is weird considering this whole thing is about fishkeeping :))
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 8 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you, and I miss that too. The problem is that we always decide the fish - which is actually a long process - weeks after the video is shot and the tank is cycling. That's why we only have a few videos that mention a particular fish the scape is being built for... Yeah, we should talk more about them. Thanks for pointing that out.

Personally, I think that is your best Aquascape so far. I love everything about it. The only thing that I would have done slightly differently is that I would have made a more noticeable Waterfall. OMG! Guys this is amazing! It looks like a sunset in the valley. Wow! Great to have you here. One question. How many kg of stones did you get and does this amount have a significant impact on ph, gh, kh? Is 50% water change per week enough?
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 8 ай бұрын
Actually, we had to move to two weekly water changes with this one to deal with some initial algae issues due to the fluctuation of water hardness with the Seiryu stones, we used some 150 kilograms for sure, maybe even more. pH and KH are not a problem though.

I can't help watching that stunning video over and over again! What a great scape! P.S.: Balázs, Tommy... is it ok to use two different types of rocks in a layout, one darker than the other, on the back, to create the illusion of depth?
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 7 ай бұрын
Well, there is no definitive rule against that, but it's a very delicate process, choosing the right stones for that effect. Go ahead, experiment with it! We've done it in the past, for example with Frodo stones, where you have the same textures in different colors. Or you can use normal Seiryu and Dark Seiryu together for the same result.

At 13:46 there is a dark green plant between the two Asparagus mountains, near the water surface, which you didn't mention in your build nor the video's description. Is this Ophiopogon Japonicus?

Sharp eyes there 😎 It is indeed Ophiopogom japonicus 'minima' 🔥🔥

Awesome...I'm a newbie here but I gotta ask , what are you using for filtration? I don't see anything or your plants moving
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 8 ай бұрын
We use a big Eheim 2080 and a smaller Oase filtosmart for the waterfall. We use these 1200 lph filters under our 240 liter tanks mostly, they provide enough flow, not a wild one, but OK.

Amazing, Beautiful.. I observed some nerite snails. They start spreading their eggs all over the stones and wood. How do avoid that, as they don't look good all over the tank..

Hey, thanks for your words, Nick! :) Yup we're thinking about the next workshops. Let us know if you have any suggestions for possible guests. We have a list already, but looking forward to the 2024 year plan.

Your welcome, I just love it!💚 Great to hear that you guys are planning workshops for 2024. Who I would like to see? Someone from ADA Japan would be amazing if that is even possible... Yusuke Homma, Daichi Araki or one of the other Suiki creators doing a big tank would really be great, otherwise Philip from Liquid Nature maybe... I'll keep an eye on your website and the newsletter to see upcoming events!

Yes, I would love to have Araki san back, unfortunately Homma san can not speak fluent English, so that would be a bit of a problem, and the interpreter thing does not really deliver the message as we experienced it with the Fukada Workshop. Cheers.

I think bad choice for asparagus plant maybe another fern with larger leaves, too dense small fragile leaves. Needs a stronger individual leaf setting up top.

@GreenAquaShop

Yup, it can happen that a stone starts to break down underwater in a certain condition and the white part becomes more visible. This happened here too. We will cover it up with plants or replace it later. Thanks for watching 👍

I love green aqua aquariums, but this one doesnt feel right with me. I dont like the rock on the bottom left, it distorts the harmony. And the rock structure feels fake overall when we have plants in it.... it looks like nature, but doesnt feel like it, something is missing
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much, I agree with you on the bottom left rock, might change it in the long run. For the rest, let's wait a bit, until the plants fill up the scape more, and you'll let us know under the cinematic video in a comment if you change your mind. 😅
