I watch yours and Lisa's videos in amazement. You can get so much accomplished in a day! I was never that productive when I was raising my family. Now I'm just old and tired, Thanksgiving yesterday nearly wiped me out. 😂

Ok Laura, I have been binge watching your videos the past couple days & I'm amazed at how much you get done in a day! I actually found myself thinking, your viewers must feel as lazy as I am feeling, like how do you get it all done so efficiently? Haha Then I reined in those thoughts & said, oh wait ~ hold up, this isn't just ONE day you are sharing in each video. Whew, relief! Haha Please tell me that assumption is correct. Lol I laughed at myself wallowing in my own thoughts because I am old, yes I do mean old (70's) & I used to keep my household as you share here, cooking from scratch, baking ALOT, cleaning, Yada, Yada, Yada & managed to get it all done daily with perfect flow. Even managed to find time, once the kids were in bed for the night, to crochet & sew. Kudos to you Laura! Here is my question, as yet, I haven't seen interaction on camera with your kids. Is that a conscious decision to not display your children on camera because of media exposure? Just curious because I know you interact with them. I say this because I know when mine were out playing I was caring fir the house, sadly & I so regret that.

When you build your new home, be sure to dream up a true mudroom. At least 10x10 with a tile floor and a cubby with shelves/baskets for each family member. Kitchen grade cabinets and a counter top to hide out of season items, reusable shopping bags and really improve usability and organization. Best thing we ever did with a zillion kids and all that winter stuff!

I love your videos! Have you ever made your liquid laundry soap with liquid castile soap instead of a fels naphtha bar? It also works great. I also make disinfectant spray with 1 quart water, 1/4 cup liquid castile soap, and a few drops thyme essential oil. So easy, and I use it for just about everything from counters to toilets. Wanted to share since you always share such wonderful recipes and ideas. I have been making your powder laundry soap for a couple years now and still use it and love it so much! ♡

My grandma always held the bottom end of an unlit match between her lips when she cut onions. I used to do the same when we were first married. This sounds so odd, but I’ve been wondering if they’ve changed the way they make matches within the last few years, because I promise it used to work like a charm every time, but it hasn’t worked for me for a while. I just had my daughter try it on Thanksgiving and it doesn’t seem to work at all anymore. I’m going to try the water tip!

For onions try cutting it in half without cutting the root end. Then peel it and cut as per the size you want. I am not a fan of the guy in particular but I watched how to chop onions about 8 years ago from the guy who did that cooking show, maybe it’s Ramsey something lol I can’t remember. Anyways, this way you don’t have eyes tearing up until the very end or not at all most of the time.

My tip for onion cry is put a small pot of 1/4 of white vinegar and let it simmer while you cook...it somehow works for us at home with the onions...if you have the space on the stovetop. Or you can try just putting a lit candle close to you where you're chopping the onion.
